4. Setup
4.1 Air Supply Requirements
This impact wrench is air-powered and requires a clean, dry, and regulated air supply. Ensure your air compressor can provide sufficient airflow (CFM/LPM) and pressure (PSI/Bar) for optimal tool performance. Refer to the specifications section for detailed requirements.
- Air Pressure: Typically 90 PSI (6.2 Bar) at the tool inlet during operation.
- Air Hose: Use a hose with an adequate diameter to minimize pressure drop.
- Filter/Lubricator/Regulator (FRL) Unit: Install an FRL unit close to the tool to ensure clean, lubricated, and regulated air.
4.2 Connecting the Air Supply
- Ensure the air compressor is off and the air line is depressurized.
- Apply thread sealant tape to the air inlet fitting on the impact wrench.
- Connect the air hose to the tool's air inlet.
- Connect the other end of the air hose to the FRL unit and then to the air compressor.
- Turn on the air compressor and adjust the regulator to the recommended operating pressure.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Attaching Sockets
Use only impact-grade sockets with a 1-inch drive. Standard chrome sockets are not designed for impact use and may shatter.
- Ensure the air supply is disconnected.
- Align the square drive of the socket with the anvil of the impact wrench.
- Push the socket firmly onto the anvil until it locks securely in place with the dual retainer.
- To remove, pull back the retainer and slide the socket off.
5.2 Adjusting Power Settings
The CP5000 features 4-position power settings to control the torque output. Rotate the power regulator dial to select the desired setting. Start with a lower setting and increase as needed to prevent overtightening or damage to fasteners.
5.3 Forward and Reverse Operation
The convenient reverse valve allows for quick changes in rotation direction.
- Forward (Tightening): Push the reverse valve to the designated forward position.
- Reverse (Loosening): Push the reverse valve to the designated reverse position.
Always ensure the tool has come to a complete stop before changing direction.
5.4 Proper Usage
- Hold the tool firmly with both hands.
- Place the socket squarely on the fastener.
- Depress the throttle lever to begin operation.
- Release the throttle lever to stop the tool.
- For critical torque applications, always use a calibrated torque wrench for final tightening.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your impact wrench. Disconnect the air supply before performing any maintenance.
6.1 Lubrication
- Daily: If an in-line lubricator is not used, add 5-10 drops of pneumatic tool oil into the air inlet before and after each use.
- Weekly/Monthly: Depending on usage, the hammer mechanism may require grease. Consult a qualified service technician for internal lubrication.
6.2 Cleaning and Inspection
- Keep the tool clean and free of debris. Wipe down the exterior with a clean cloth.
- Inspect the air hose for cuts, abrasions, or leaks. Replace damaged hoses immediately.
- Check the anvil and socket retainer for wear or damage.
- Ensure all fasteners on the tool are tight.
6.3 Storage
Store the impact wrench in a dry, clean environment when not in use. Apply a few drops of pneumatic tool oil to the air inlet before storage to prevent internal corrosion.
