Setup and Installation
This section provides instructions for replacing the male plug on your RV power cord. The process involves preparing the wire, connecting it to the new plug, and reassembling the plug housing.

Steps:
- Prepare the Power Cord: Carefully cut off the damaged plug end of your RV power cord. Strip approximately 3 inches of the outer insulation from the cable, being careful not to cut the internal wires.
- Strip Internal Wires: Inside the cable, you will find three wires: green (ground), white (neutral), and black (hot). Strip about 1 inch of insulation from the green wire. For the black and white wires, cut them approximately 1/4 inch shorter than the green wire, then strip about 1 inch of insulation from each.
- Disassemble the New Plug: Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove the screws holding the plug cover and the strain relief clamp. Separate the plug housing to access the internal terminals. Loosen the terminal screws (green for ground, black for hot, silver/brass for neutral) to prepare for wire insertion.
- Connect the Wires: Insert the prepared wires into their corresponding terminals: the green wire to the green screw (ground), the black wire to the black screw (hot), and the white wire to the silver/brass screw (neutral). Ensure that the wire strands are fully seated under the terminal plates and tighten the screws securely.
- Reassemble the Plug: Once all wires are securely connected, carefully align the two halves of the plug housing and reattach the cover. Insert the strain relief clamp around the cable at the base of the plug, ensuring it holds the cable firmly. Tighten all screws to secure the plug assembly.

Operating Instructions
The Camco Power Grip handle is designed for ease of use. To connect, firmly grasp the Power Grip handle and push the plug into the RV receptacle until fully seated. To disconnect, firmly grasp the Power Grip handle and pull the plug straight out from the receptacle. Avoid pulling the cord itself, as this can damage the wiring over time.

Maintenance
- Regularly inspect the plug and cord for any signs of wear, damage, or loose connections.
- Keep the plug clean and free from dirt, moisture, and debris.
- Store the power cord and plug in a dry, protected area when not in use.
- If any part of the plug becomes damaged, replace it immediately to ensure safety.
Troubleshooting
- No Power: Check if the plug is fully inserted into the receptacle. Inspect the wiring connections inside the plug for looseness or corrosion. Verify the power source (e.g., campground pedestal) is active.
- Overheating Plug: An overheating plug can indicate a loose connection, an overloaded circuit, or damaged wiring. Disconnect power immediately and inspect all connections. Ensure your RV's power draw does not exceed the plug's rating.
- Difficulty Connecting/Disconnecting: Ensure the Power Grip handle is used for proper leverage. Check for any obstructions in the receptacle or damage to the plug prongs.
