Setup

1. Battery Installation (if applicable)

The chest strap comes with a pre-installed CR2 battery. If replacement is needed, refer to the Maintenance section.

2. Preparing the Electrodes

Before wearing, moisten the two electrode areas on the back of the chest strap (the ribbed sections) with water or electrode gel. This ensures good contact with your skin for accurate heart rate detection.

3. Wearing the Chest Strap

  1. Adjust the elastic strap to a comfortable fit around your chest, just below your pectoral muscles.
  2. Ensure the sensor module is centered on your chest, with the Sigma logo facing outwards.
  3. The moistened electrodes should be in firm contact with your skin.

Operating

1. Pairing with Your Heart Rate Monitor

The Sigma Analog Chest Strap is designed to work with compatible analog heart rate monitors. Typically, no manual pairing is required as the analog signal is continuously broadcast. Simply ensure your heart rate monitor is turned on and within range.

2. Starting Your Workout

Once the chest strap is correctly worn and the electrodes are moistened, your heart rate monitor should automatically detect the signal. Begin your activity as usual. Your heart rate will be displayed on your compatible device.

3. Ending Your Workout

After your workout, remove the chest strap. It is recommended to clean the strap immediately after use (see Maintenance section).

Battery Replacement

The chest strap uses a CR2 battery. When the battery is low, your heart rate monitor may display an indicator or show erratic readings. To replace the battery:

  1. Carefully open the battery compartment on the back of the sensor module using a small coin or appropriate tool.
  2. Remove the old battery.
  3. Insert a new CR2 battery with the positive (+) side facing up.
  4. Close the battery compartment securely, ensuring the seal is properly seated to maintain water resistance.

Storage

Store the chest strap in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
