This design captures a wide sound area while maintaining perfect clarity and definition for central sound sources, eliminating phase differences between left and right channels.

  • On-board Studio Effects: Includes built-in effects such as compression, limiting, and microphone modeling. Guitar and bass amplifier modeling effects are also available, accurately reproducing the sounds of various amplifiers.
  • 4-Track Recording Mode: Unlike many field recorders, the H4 offers a dedicated 4-track recording mode, enabling mobile multi-track recording at 16-bit/44.1 kHz resolution.
  • Secure Digital (SD) Media: Records directly to widely available SD memory cards (16MB-2GB), providing reliable storage without mechanical vibrations affecting recording quality.
  • USB Mass-Storage Interface: Easily transfer recorded audio files to a PC or Mac for editing, mixing, and mastering.
  • Power Options: Operates on 2 AA batteries for approximately four hours of continuous recording or via the included AC adapter.
  • Integrated Metronome: Features 5 distinct metronome sounds with adjustable beat (0/4 - 8/4, 6/8) and tempo (40.0 - 250.0 BPM).
  • High-Quality Conversion: A/D Conversion: 24bit, 128 times oversampling; D/A Conversion: 24bit, 128 times oversampling.
  • Signal Processing: Utilizes 32-bit signal processing for enhanced audio fidelity.
