Setup Guide
1. Unpacking and Inspection
Carefully remove the Denon DNS3500 from its packaging. Inspect the unit for any signs of damage that may have occurred during transit. Ensure all accessories, including the power cord and any included cables, are present.
2. Connecting the Unit
Before connecting any cables, ensure the unit and all connected audio equipment are powered off.
- Audio Output: Connect the RCA audio output jacks (LINE OUT) on the rear panel of the DNS3500 to an available input on your DJ mixer or amplifier using RCA cables.
- Digital Output: If your mixer or amplifier supports digital audio input, connect the DIGITAL OUT coaxial jack to the corresponding input.
- Power Connection: Connect the power cord to the AC IN socket on the rear panel, then plug the other end into a suitable power outlet.

3. Initial Power On
After all connections are made, switch on your mixer/amplifier first, then power on the Denon DNS3500 using the power switch located on the rear panel. The display will illuminate, indicating the unit is ready for operation.
Operating Instructions
1. Loading a Disc
Press the DISC EJECT button to open the disc tray. Place a CD or MP3 CD onto the tray with the label side facing up. Gently push the tray back in or press DISC EJECT again to close it. The unit will read the disc and display track information.

2. Basic Playback
- Play/Pause: Press the PLAY/PAUSE button to start or pause playback.
- Cue: Press the CUE button to set a cue point or return to the previously set cue point.
- Track Selection: Use the NEXT TRACK and PREVIOUS TRACK buttons to navigate between tracks.
3. Platter Control and Scratching
The DNS3500 features a high-torque direct drive platter that simulates the feel of a vinyl turntable. In VINYL mode, you can manipulate the platter for scratching and back-cueing. The platter offers 2.5kg/cm of start-up torque for responsive control.

4. Pitch Control
Adjust the playback speed using the PITCH slider. The DNS3500 offers deep pitch resolution for fine adjustments, essential for beatmatching and long mix transitions. Use the PITCH BEND buttons for momentary speed adjustments.
5. On-board Effects
The unit includes 7 built-in effects. Use the EFFECTS section to select and apply effects such as Flanger, Echo, and Filter. Adjust parameters using the dedicated knobs to customize the sound.
6. Sampling and Looping
The DNS3500 allows you to sample parts of your tracks on the fly. Use the SAMPLER controls to record and playback short audio segments. The looping functions enable seamless repetition of sections within a track.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Regularly clean the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, slightly dampen the cloth with water. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or chemical sprays, as these can damage the finish and internal components. Keep the disc tray area free of dust and debris.
2. Firmware Updates
Periodically check the Denon DJ website for available firmware updates. Firmware updates can improve performance, add new features, or resolve known issues. Follow the instructions provided with the firmware update package carefully to avoid damaging the unit.
