Setup

Mounting the Scope

Ensure your rifle is unloaded and pointed in a safe direction before beginning installation. The Simmons 8-Point scope comes with included Weaver-style rings for mounting. Select appropriate rings that provide sufficient clearance for the 50mm objective lens. Securely attach the rings to your rifle's mounting base, then place the scope into the rings. Adjust the scope's position for proper eye relief and level the reticle before tightening the ring screws evenly to the manufacturer's recommended torque specifications.

Initial Adjustments

Once mounted, perform initial adjustments for diopter and magnification. The diopter adjustment, located on the eyepiece, allows you to sharpen the reticle for your eye. Point the scope at a clear, bright area (like the sky) and rotate the eyepiece until the reticle appears crisp and sharp. The magnification ring, typically located near the eyepiece, allows you to adjust the magnification from 3x to 9x.

Operating the Scope

Magnification Adjustment

To change the magnification, rotate the power ring located near the eyepiece. The scope offers a variable magnification range from 3x to 9x. Adjust to your desired magnification based on target distance and environmental conditions.

Windage and Elevation Adjustment

The windage (horizontal) and elevation (vertical) adjustments are controlled by the turrets located on the top and side of the scope. Remove the protective caps to access the adjustment dials. Each click of the dial represents a 1/4 MOA (Minute of Angle) change at 100 yards. Rotate the dials to move the point of impact. The TrueZero system ensures that once sighted in, your settings remain locked. After adjustment, replace the protective caps.

Focus Adjustment

The QTA (Quick Target Acquisition) eyepiece allows for rapid focus adjustment of the reticle. For optimal clarity of the target image, ensure the diopter is correctly set for your eye. The scope's parallax is factory-set to 100 yards, providing a clear image at this distance without further adjustment.

Maintenance

Cleaning the Lenses

To clean the lenses, first use a soft brush or compressed air to remove any loose dust or debris. Then, gently wipe the lenses with a clean, soft microfiber cloth specifically designed for optics. For stubborn smudges, use a small amount of lens cleaning fluid applied to the cloth, not directly to the lens. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

Storage

Store your rifle scope in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. Use the provided lens caps to protect the objective and eyepiece lenses when not in use. If storing for an extended period, consider placing the scope in a padded case to prevent accidental damage.
