1. Introduction

The Reliance Controls THP207 Power Failure Alarm with LED Flashlight is designed to alert you to power outages and provide emergency lighting. This device plugs into any standard 120V outlet and features a loud pulsing alarm and a super-bright LED flashlight that activates when power is lost. It includes a rechargeable NiMH battery for backup power.

2. Setup

2.1 Initial Charging

Before first use or after extended storage, the unit's internal rechargeable NiMH battery must be charged for a minimum of 24 hours. Plug the device into a live 120V AC outlet to initiate charging.

2.2 Placement

Plug the THP207 directly into any standard 120V wall outlet or power strip. Ensure the outlet is exposed and the device is ventilated, preventing contact with bed coverings or other materials that could obstruct airflow.

2.3 Safety Warnings

• This product is for adult use only. It is not a toy and is not intended for use by children.
• Risk of electric shock and fire hazard. Do not use with extension cords.

3. Operation

3.1 Power Failure Alarm Function

Once plugged into a live 120V outlet and fully charged, set the side switch to the "Armed" position. In the event of a power failure, the unit will automatically emit a loud, pulsing alarm and activate its super-bright LED light to alert you and provide illumination.

3.2 Flashlight Function

To use the device as a portable LED flashlight, unplug it from the wall outlet. Move the side switch to the "Light" position. The LED will illuminate, powered by the internal rechargeable battery. To turn off the flashlight, move the switch to the "Off" position.

3.3 Switch Positions

The THP207 features a three-position slide switch on its side:

• Armed: Activates the power failure alarm and light function.
• Light: Activates the LED flashlight for portable use.
• Off: Turns off all functions.

4.1 Cleaning

Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or immerse the unit in water.

4.2 Battery Care

The THP207 contains a rechargeable NiMH battery. For optimal performance and battery life, keep the unit plugged into a live outlet when not in use to maintain a full charge. Avoid prolonged storage with a completely discharged battery.

• Alarm does not sound during a power outage:
  • Ensure the unit is securely plugged into a functional 120V outlet.
  • Verify the side switch is set to the "Armed" position.
  • Allow 24 hours for initial battery charge. A low battery may affect alarm function.
• LED flashlight does not turn on:
  • Ensure the side switch is set to the "Light" position.

• Alarm volume seems low:
  • The alarm is designed to be audible within the immediate vicinity. For best results, place the unit in a central location or a room where you need immediate notification of a power failure.
