Setup and Installation

Follow these steps to set up your Snom 300 IP Phone:

  1. Connect the Handset: Plug the coiled handset cord into the port labeled with a handset icon on the side of the phone base.
  2. Connect to Network/Power:
    • Using Power over Ethernet (PoE): Connect an Ethernet cable from your PoE-enabled network switch or router to the LAN port on the back of the phone. The phone will power on automatically.
    • Using a Power Adapter (Sold Separately): If PoE is not available, connect a compatible power adapter (not included) to the power input port on the back of the phone, then connect an Ethernet cable from your network to the LAN port.
  3. Initial Boot-up: The phone will power on and attempt to obtain an IP address via DHCP. The display will show the boot-up progress.
  4. Web Interface Access: Once the phone has an IP address, you can access its web-based configuration interface by entering the phone's IP address into a web browser on a computer connected to the same network. The IP address is typically displayed on the phone's screen or can be found in the phone's network settings menu.
  5. SIP Account Configuration: Log in to the web interface (default credentials are often admin/password or similar, refer to Snom documentation for specifics). Navigate to the SIP Identity settings to configure your VoIP provider's account details (SIP server, username, password, etc.). The Snom 300 supports up to 4 SIP identities.
