2.2 Connecting Your KVM Switch
Power Off All Devices: Ensure all computers and the KVM switch are powered off before making any connections.
Connect Console Devices: Connect your USB keyboard, USB mouse, and monitor to the designated console ports on the ATEN CS1754 KVM switch. If using speakers, connect them to the audio output port.
Connect Computers: Use the provided KVM cable sets to connect each computer to the corresponding KVM port on the switch. Each cable set typically includes connections for VGA, USB, and audio. Ensure secure connections for all ports.
Connect Power Adapter: Plug the power adapter into the KVM switch's power jack, then into an AC power outlet.
Power On Devices: First, power on all connected computers. Once the computers have fully booted, power on the ATEN CS1754 KVM switch.
3. Operating the KVM Switch
3.1 Switching Between Computers
The ATEN CS1754 offers multiple methods for switching between connected computers.
3.1.1 Front Panel Pushbuttons
Press the corresponding numbered pushbutton on the front panel of the KVM switch to select the desired computer. The LED indicator for the selected port will illuminate.
3.1.2 Hotkey Switching
Hotkey combinations allow for quick switching directly from your keyboard.
Sequential Switching: Press the [Scroll Lock] key twice rapidly, followed by the [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] key to cycle through connected computers.
Direct Port Selection: Press the [Scroll Lock] key twice rapidly, followed by the number key (1-4) corresponding to the desired computer port.
Auto Scan Mode: To initiate auto scan mode, which automatically switches between computers at a set interval, press the [Scroll Lock] key twice rapidly, followed by the [A] key. To exit auto scan mode, press any key.
3.1.3 OSD (On-Screen Display) Switching
Access the On-Screen Display menu by pressing the [Scroll Lock] key twice rapidly, followed by the [F12] key. Use the arrow keys to navigate and [Enter] to select the desired computer.
3.2 USB Hub Functionality
The integrated USB hub allows sharing of additional USB peripherals among the connected computers. Connect your USB devices (e.g., printer, scanner, USB drive) to the USB hub ports on the KVM switch. These devices will be accessible by the currently selected computer.
4. Maintenance and Care
Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the KVM switch. Do not use liquid or aerosol cleaners.
Ventilation: Ensure the KVM switch has adequate ventilation. Do not block any ventilation openings.
Environmental Conditions: Operate the device within the specified temperature and humidity ranges to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

No Display:
Check all video cable connections between the monitor, KVM switch, and computers.

Keyboard/Mouse Not Responding:
Verify USB cable connections from the keyboard/mouse to the KVM switch, and from the KVM switch to the computers.

Try connecting the keyboard/mouse directly to a computer to confirm they are functional.
Audio Issues:
Check all audio cable connections.
Verify audio settings on the selected computer.
