Product Overview

TAG Heuer Aquaracer Chronograph Watch with black dial and silver stainless steel bracelet

Figure 1: Front view of the TAG Heuer Aquaracer Chronograph Watch (Model CAF1110.BA0804). This image displays the watch's black dial with three white subdials, luminescent hands and markers, a date window between 4 and 5 o'clock, and a silver-toned stainless steel case and bracelet. The unidirectional bezel with minute markings is also visible.

The TAG Heuer Aquaracer Chronograph is a robust and precise timepiece. Key features include:

  • Precise Swiss ETA 251.262 quartz movement with chronograph.
  • Scratch-resistant sapphire crystal for enhanced durability.
  • Luminescent hands and markers for visibility in low light.
  • Unidirectional bezel with SuperLuminova dot at 12 o'clock for dive timing.
  • Solid 41-mm stainless-steel case with engraved diver's helmet decorated caseback.
  • Three rows of fine-brushed stainless-steel bracelet with diving extension.
  • Chronograph functions with 12-hour, 60-second, and 1/10th of a second subdials.
  • Date function located between 4 and 5 o'clock.
  • Water resistant to 990 feet (300 M), suitable for scuba diving.

Setup

Setting Time and Date

  1. Unscrew the crown (located at 3 o'clock) counter-clockwise until it springs out to position 1.
  2. Pull the crown gently to position 2 to set the date. Turn the crown clockwise or counter-clockwise until the correct date appears in the date window.
  3. Pull the crown gently to position 3 to set the time. Turn the crown to move the hour and minute hands to the desired time. Ensure to account for AM/PM when setting the date.
  4. Once the time and date are set, push the crown back into position 1 and screw it clockwise firmly against the case to ensure water resistance.

Adjusting the Bracelet

The stainless steel bracelet can be adjusted by adding or removing links. This procedure requires specialized tools and should ideally be performed by a qualified watchmaker or an authorized TAG Heuer service center to prevent damage to the bracelet or watch.

Operating Instructions

Using the Chronograph Function

The chronograph allows for precise measurement of elapsed time.

  • Start: Press the upper push-button (at 2 o'clock) to start the chronograph. The central chronograph second hand will begin to move.
  • Stop: Press the upper push-button again to stop the chronograph. The central second hand and the subdial hands will stop, indicating the elapsed time.
  • Reset: After stopping the chronograph, press the lower push-button (at 4 o'clock) to reset all chronograph hands to their zero positions.
  • Intermediate Time (Split Time): While the chronograph is running, press the lower push-button to display an intermediate time without stopping the main timing. Press the lower push-button again to catch up to the running time. Press the upper push-button to stop the chronograph, then the lower push-button to reset.

Chronograph Subdials

  • 60-Second Subdial: Typically located at 6 o'clock, this subdial measures elapsed seconds for the chronograph.
  • 1/10th of a Second Subdial: Typically located at 2 o'clock, this subdial measures fractions of a second for the chronograph.
  • 12-Hour Subdial: Typically located at 10 o'clock, this subdial measures elapsed hours for the chronograph.

Using the Unidirectional Bezel

The unidirectional rotating bezel is designed for measuring elapsed time, particularly useful for diving or other timed activities. To use it, align the zero marker on the bezel with the minute hand at the start of your activity. As time passes, the minute hand will indicate the elapsed time against the bezel's scale. The bezel rotates only counter-clockwise to prevent accidental increases in measured time, which is a critical safety feature for divers.

Maintenance and Care

Cleaning Your Watch

Regular cleaning helps maintain the appearance of your watch. Use a soft, damp cloth to wipe the case and bracelet. For stainless steel, a mild soap solution can be used, but ensure the crown is fully screwed in to maintain water resistance. Rinse with clean water and dry thoroughly with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

Water Resistance

Your watch is water resistant to 300 meters (990 feet). This makes it suitable for professional marine activity and serious surface water sports, but not for saturation diving. Always ensure the crown is fully screwed in before exposing the watch to water. Do not operate the push-buttons or crown when the watch is wet or submerged. After exposure to saltwater, rinse the watch with fresh water and dry it thoroughly.

Battery Replacement

As a quartz watch, your timepiece is powered by a battery. The lifespan of the battery varies, but typically lasts several years. When the battery needs replacement, it is highly recommended to have this service performed by an authorized TAG Heuer service center or a qualified watchmaker. This ensures that the watch's water resistance is maintained and that genuine parts are used.

Storage

When not wearing your watch, store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and strong magnetic fields. The original watch box is ideal for storage.
