5. Setup
5.1 Powering the Unit
Battery Installation:
- Open the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the unit.
- Insert two (2) 'AA' size batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
- Close the battery compartment cover securely.
AC Adapter (Optional):
If using an optional AC power adapter (not included), plug the adapter into the DC IN 4.5V jack on the unit and then into a standard wall outlet. Batteries will be bypassed when the AC adapter is connected.
5.2 Loading a CD
- Gently press the OPEN button or slide the latch to open the CD compartment lid.
- Place an audio CD or CD-R disc onto the center spindle with the label side facing up.
- Gently press the CD down until it clicks into place.
- Close the CD compartment lid firmly until it latches.
5.3 Connecting Headphones
Insert the stereo headphone plug into the PHONES jack on the side of the unit.
6. Operating Instructions
6.1 Basic Playback
- After loading a CD and connecting headphones, press the PLAY/PAUSE (►) button to begin playback. The track number and elapsed time will appear on the LCD display.
- To pause playback, press the PLAY/PAUSE (‖) button. Press it again to resume.
- To stop playback, press the STOP (■) button.
- Adjust the volume using the VOL (+/-) buttons.
- To skip to the next track, press the SKIP/SEARCH (▶▶) button.
- To go back to the beginning of the current track, press the SKIP/SEARCH (◀◀) button once. Press it twice to go to the previous track.
- To search rapidly within a track, hold down the SKIP/SEARCH (◀◀ or ▶▶) button.
6.2 Programmable Memory (20 Tracks)
You can program up to 20 tracks to play in a specific order.
- In STOP mode, press the PROG button. The program indicator will flash on the display.
- Use the SKIP/SEARCH (◀◀/▶▶) buttons to select the desired track number.
- Press the PROG button again to confirm the selection and add it to the program list.
- Repeat steps 2 and 3 to add up to 20 tracks.
- After programming all desired tracks, press the PLAY/PAUSE (►) button to start playback of the programmed sequence.
- To clear the program, press the STOP (■) button twice.
6.3 Play Modes
Press the MODE button repeatedly to cycle through the following playback options:

- INTRO: Plays the first 10 seconds of each track on the disc.
- RANDOM: Plays tracks in a random order.
6.4 Auto Power Off
The unit features an auto power off function to conserve battery life. If the unit is left in STOP mode for approximately 30 seconds, it will automatically power off.
