5.1. Powering On/Off and Brightness Adjustment

The sight features a rheostat control for turning the unit on/off and adjusting the brightness of the reticle.

  1. Rotate the rheostat knob (typically located on the top or side of the sight) clockwise to turn the sight on and increase brightness.
  2. Rotate the knob counter-clockwise to decrease brightness and turn the sight off.
  3. The sight offers multiple brightness settings to adapt to various lighting conditions, from low light to bright daylight.

5.2. Reticle Color Selection (if applicable)

Some models of the Traditional Red Dot Sight may offer both red and green reticle options. This is typically controlled by a switch or a specific setting on the rheostat knob.

  • Consult your specific model's markings on the rheostat or a dedicated switch to toggle between red and green illumination.
  • Choose the color that provides the best contrast against your target and background.

5.3. Windage and Elevation Adjustments

The sight features precise click adjustments for windage (horizontal) and elevation (vertical) to zero your sight to your firearm.

  1. Locate the windage and elevation adjustment turrets. The elevation turret is typically on top, and the windage turret on the side.
  2. Remove the protective caps from the turrets. These caps often have retention lanyards to prevent loss.
  3. Use a flathead screwdriver, a coin, or the cap itself (if designed) to turn the adjustment turrets.
  4. Each click represents a specific change in point of impact (e.g., 1 MOA per click). Refer to the markings on the turrets for direction (e.g., "UP" for elevation, "R" for right windage).
  5. After zeroing, replace the protective caps to prevent accidental adjustments and protect the turrets.

6. Maintenance

Proper maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your TRUGLO Red Dot Sight.

  • Cleaning Lenses: Use a soft, lint-free cloth or a lens pen to clean the optical surfaces. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials. Gently wipe away dust and smudges.
  • Cleaning Body: Wipe the exterior of the sight with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Dry thoroughly.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the sight in a cool, dry place. Engage the flip-up lens caps to protect the lenses. For long-term storage, consider removing the battery to prevent corrosion.
  • Water and Shock Resistance: While the sight is designed to be water and shock resistant, avoid prolonged submersion or excessive impact to maintain its integrity.
