This guide provides detailed information on setting up, operating, and maintaining your watch to ensure optimal performance and longevity. Your watch features a digital display, chronograph, alarm, and Indiglo night-light.

Watch Components

Familiarize yourself with the main components and buttons of your Timex digital watch:

  • SET Button: Used to enter and exit setting modes.
  • START/STOP Button: Used to start and stop the chronograph, and to adjust values in setting modes.
  • MODE Button: Used to cycle through different display modes (Time, Alarm, Chronograph).
  • SPLIT/RESET Button: Used for split times in chronograph mode and to reset values. Also activates Indiglo.

Initial Setup

Your watch comes with a pre-installed lithium metal battery. No initial battery activation is typically required. If the display is blank, the battery may need replacement.

Operating Instructions

Setting Time and Date

  1. From the time display, press and hold the SET button until the seconds begin to flash.
  2. Press the MODE button to advance to the next setting (seconds, hours, minutes, 12/24-hour format, month, date, day of week).
  3. Use the START/STOP button to adjust the flashing value.
  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 until all desired settings are adjusted.
  5. Press the SET button again to exit the setting mode.

Setting the Alarm

  1. From the time display, press the MODE button repeatedly until 'ALARM' is displayed.
  2. Press and hold the SET button until the alarm hours begin to flash.
  3. Use the START/STOP button to adjust the alarm hour.
  4. Press the MODE button to advance to the alarm minutes.
  5. Use the START/STOP button to adjust the alarm minutes.
  6. Press the SET button to confirm and exit alarm setting.
  7. To turn the alarm ON/OFF, press the START/STOP button while in alarm display mode. An alarm icon will appear when the alarm is active.

Using the Chronograph

The chronograph measures elapsed time, lap times, and split times.

  1. From the time display, press the MODE button repeatedly until 'CHRONO' or 'STOPW' is displayed. The chronograph will show '0:00:00'.
  2. Press the START/STOP button to start the chronograph.
  3. To record a split time (time at an intermediate point), press the SPLIT/RESET button. The display will freeze for a few seconds to show the split time, then return to the running chronograph.
  4. Press the START/STOP button again to stop the chronograph.
  5. To reset the chronograph to zero, press the SPLIT/RESET button while the chronograph is stopped.

Indiglo Night-Light

To illuminate the watch display in low-light conditions, press the SPLIT/RESET button. The Indiglo night-light will activate for a few seconds.

24-Hour Military Time Mode

To switch between 12-hour (AM/PM) and 24-hour (military) time formats, enter the time setting mode (as described in 'Setting Time and Date'). When the 12/24-hour format option is flashing, use the START/STOP button to toggle between the two formats.

Care and Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Clean your watch with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Water Resistance: This watch is water resistant to 30 meters (100 feet). It is suitable for splashes or brief immersion in water. It is not suitable for swimming, bathing, or diving. Do not operate buttons underwater.
  • Battery Replacement: The watch uses 1 Lithium Metal battery. Battery replacement should ideally be performed by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and water resistance.
  • Temperature Extremes: Avoid exposing your watch to extreme temperatures, as this can affect battery life and watch accuracy.

Troubleshooting
