1. Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Logitech MX3000 Cordless Keyboard and Laser Mouse Desktop. This product combines a wireless keyboard and a laser mouse, designed for enhanced precision and comfort.

4.1. Battery Installation

The keyboard requires two (2) AA batteries, and the mouse requires two (2) AA batteries.

  1. For the Keyboard: Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the keyboard. Open the cover, insert two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-), and close the cover.
  2. For the Mouse: Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the mouse. Open the cover, insert two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-), and close the cover.

4.2. Connecting the USB Wireless Receiver

Plug the USB wireless receiver into an available USB port on your computer. Your operating system (Windows 98, Me, XP) should automatically detect the new hardware.

4.3. Software Installation (Optional)

For full functionality, including customization of media keys and advanced mouse settings, it is recommended to install the Logitech SetPoint software. If a software CD was included, insert it into your computer's CD-ROM drive and follow the on-screen instructions. Otherwise, download the latest software from the official Logitech support website.

4.4. Pairing Devices (SecureConnect)

The Logitech MX3000 utilizes SecureConnect wireless technology for a reliable connection. In most cases, the keyboard and mouse will automatically pair with the receiver upon initial setup. If a connection is not established:

  1. Ensure the receiver is securely plugged into a USB port.
  2. Press the "Connect" button on the underside of the keyboard.
  3. Press the "Connect" button on the underside of the mouse.
  4. Press the "Connect" button on the USB receiver.

The devices should now be paired and ready for use.

6.1. Cleaning

6.2. Battery Replacement

When the battery indicator LED on the mouse flashes or the keyboard/mouse performance degrades, it is time to replace the batteries.

  1. Open the battery compartment on the underside of the respective device.
  2. Remove the old AA batteries.
  3. Insert new AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover.
  5. Dispose of old batteries according to local regulations.

The MX3000 is designed for extended battery life, reducing the frequency of replacements.
