Setup and First Use
Before using your rotisserie for the first time, follow these steps:
- Unpacking: Carefully remove all packaging materials and accessories from the unit.
- Cleaning: Wash the rotisserie spit, forks, wire roasting basket, and drip pan in warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and dry completely. Wipe the interior and exterior of the main unit with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water.
- Placement: Place the rotisserie on a stable, heat-resistant surface, away from walls and other appliances to allow for proper ventilation. Ensure there is at least 6 inches of clearance on all sides.
- Initial Burn-Off: Before cooking food, operate the rotisserie empty for approximately 15 minutes to burn off any manufacturing oils. A slight odor or smoke may be present; this is normal. Ensure the area is well-ventilated.

Operating Instructions
Using the Rotisserie Spit:
- Prepare your food (e.g., chicken, roast) by tying wings and legs securely if necessary.
- Slide one rotisserie fork onto the spit, prongs facing inward. Secure it with the thumbscrew.
- Carefully push the spit through the center of the food.
- Slide the second rotisserie fork onto the spit, prongs facing inward, and firmly secure the food. Tighten the thumbscrew. Ensure the food is centered and balanced on the spit.
- Insert the pointed end of the spit into the drive socket on the right side of the rotisserie interior.
- Rest the notched end of the spit onto the support on the left side.
- Ensure the drip pan is placed at the bottom of the rotisserie.
- Close the glass door.
- Plug the rotisserie into a standard electrical outlet.
- Turn the control knob to the desired cooking time. The rotisserie will begin to rotate and heat.
- Monitor cooking progress through the glass door.
- Once cooking is complete, turn the control knob to "OFF" and unplug the unit.
- Using oven mitts, carefully remove the spit assembly from the rotisserie. Place it on a heat-resistant surface.
- Allow food to rest before carving.
Using the Wire Roasting Basket:
- Place smaller items (e.g., vegetables, fish fillets, small cuts of meat) inside the wire roasting basket. Close and secure the basket.
- Insert the basket's drive shaft into the drive socket on the right side of the rotisserie interior.
- Rest the opposite end of the basket onto the support on the left side.
- Ensure the drip pan is placed at the bottom of the rotisserie.
- Close the glass door.
- Plug the rotisserie into a standard electrical outlet.
- Turn the control knob to the desired cooking time. The basket will begin to rotate and heat.
- Follow steps 10-14 from the "Using the Rotisserie Spit" section for completion and removal.

Maintenance and Cleaning
Regular cleaning and maintenance will ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Sunbeam Rotisserie.
- Always Unplug: Before cleaning, ensure the rotisserie is unplugged from the power outlet and has completely cooled down.
- Removable Parts: Remove the rotisserie spit, forks, wire roasting basket, and drip pan. Wash these parts in warm, soapy water. For stubborn food residue, soak them before washing. These parts are generally dishwasher safe, but hand washing is recommended to preserve their finish.
- Interior Cleaning: Wipe the interior surfaces of the rotisserie with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may damage the non-stick coating or finish.
- Exterior Cleaning: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a damp cloth. Dry thoroughly.
- Glass Door: Clean the glass door with a glass cleaner or a damp cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals that could scratch or damage the glass.
- Storage: Store the rotisserie in a clean, dry place when not in use.
Note: Never immerse the main unit, cord, or plug in water or any other liquid.
