1. Setup

1.1 Battery Installation

Your Escali Primo Digital Food Scale requires two (2) AA batteries, which are included. To install or replace batteries:

1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the scale.
2. Open the battery compartment cover.
3. Insert the two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

1.2 Initial Placement

Place the scale on a hard, flat, and stable surface. Avoid placing it on soft or uneven surfaces, as this may affect accuracy.

2. Operating Instructions

2.1 Power On/Off

Press the On/Tare/Off button to turn the scale on. The display will show '0' when ready for use. To turn the scale off, press and hold the On/Tare/Off button for a few seconds until the display turns off. The scale also features an automatic shut-off after four minutes of inactivity to conserve battery life.

2.2 Unit Selection

To switch between measurement units (ounces, pounds:ounces, and grams), press the g/oz button. The current unit will be displayed on the screen.

2.3 Tare Feature

The tare feature allows you to reset the scale to zero weight, enabling you to measure multiple ingredients in the same container or subtract the weight of a container. Place the container on the scale, then press the On/Tare/Off button. The display will reset to '0', and you can then add your ingredients.
