Setup
1. Charging the Watch (Eco-Drive)
Your Eco-Drive watch is powered by light. Exposure to any light source (natural or artificial) converts light into electrical energy, which is stored in a power cell. For optimal performance, ensure your watch is regularly exposed to light.
- Initial Charge: Upon receiving your watch, expose it to bright light for several hours to ensure a full charge.
- Regular Charging: To maintain charge, wear the watch regularly or place it in a location with adequate light exposure. Avoid prolonged storage in darkness.
- Power Reserve: A fully charged Eco-Drive watch can run for approximately 6 months, even in complete darkness.

2. Setting the Time and Date
Refer to the diagram below for crown positions and detailed steps.

Figure 2: Instructions for setting the time and date.
- Setting the Time:
- Pull the crown out to the time correction position (the second hand stops).
- Turn the crown to set the 24-hour hand and minute hand to the current time. The movement of the hour hand is linked with the movement of the 24-hour hand.
- Push the crown back in to the normal position (the second hand begins to move).
- Pull the crown out to the date correction position (1st click position).
- Turn the crown to the right (clockwise direction) and set the hour hand to the current time. Pay attention to AM and PM since the location of the hour hand where the date changes is approximately 12:00 midnight.
- Securely return the crown to the normal position.
- Setting the Date:
- Pull the crown out to the date correction position.
- Turn the crown to the left (counter-clockwise direction) and set the date.
- Securely return the crown to the normal position.
Note: The date changes when the hour hand approaches 12:00 midnight. Do not attempt to correct the calendar when the hour hand is between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM, as this may prevent the date from changing on the following day.
Operating Features
1. Dual Time (Second Time Zone)
The watch features a dual time display, allowing you to track a second time zone. The inner half-circle display indicates the 24-hour time for the secondary zone.
2. Pilot's Slide Rule
The Promaster Air Nighthawk is equipped with a pilot's slide rule dial ring, operated by a crown located at the 8 o'clock position. This feature allows for various calculations relevant to aviation, such as multiplication, division, speed, distance, and fuel consumption.

3. Water Resistance
This watch is water resistant to 200 meters (660 feet), making it suitable for swimming and snorkeling, but not for deep-sea diving.
Maintenance
1. Cleaning
Regularly wipe the watch case and bracelet with a soft, dry cloth to remove dirt and perspiration. For stainless steel, a slightly damp cloth can be used, followed by a dry one.
2. Crystal Care
The watch features a non-reflective mineral crystal. While durable, avoid harsh impacts and contact with abrasive materials to prevent scratches.
3. Bracelet Care
The stainless steel bracelet is designed for durability. If links need adjustment, it is recommended to have this done by a professional watch technician to ensure proper fit and security.
Troubleshooting
- Watch Not Running: Ensure the watch is adequately exposed to light for charging. If stored in darkness for an extended period, it may require several hours of bright light exposure to resume operation.
- Date Not Changing: Verify that the time is set correctly, paying attention to AM/PM. Avoid adjusting the date between 9:00 PM and 1:00 AM.
- Second Hand Alignment: In some instances, the second hand may not perfectly align with the minute markers. This is a characteristic of certain quartz movements and typically does not affect timekeeping accuracy.
