Safety Information
DANGER: This product is toxic if swallowed. It is harmful in contact with skin and causes severe skin burns and eye damage. Always read and understand all cautions and instructions on the product label and Safety Data Sheet (SDS) before use.
- Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE), including chemical-resistant gloves, eye protection (safety goggles or face shield), and protective clothing.
- Ensure adequate ventilation in the work area to avoid inhaling vapors. Use a respirator if ventilation is insufficient.
- Avoid contact with skin and eyes. In case of contact, immediately flush with plenty of water for at least 15 minutes and seek medical attention.
- Do not ingest. If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. Call a poison control center or doctor immediately.
- Keep out of reach of children and pets.
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and incompatible materials.
Preparation and Application
Surface Preparation
Proper surface preparation is crucial for optimal adhesion and durability.
- Clean the bonding surfaces thoroughly to remove all dirt, grease, oil, wax, and other contaminants. Use a suitable automotive cleaner or degreaser.
- Abrade the bonding surfaces with 80-grit sandpaper or a coarse abrasive pad to create a mechanical profile for better adhesion.
- Re-clean the abraded surfaces to remove any sanding dust. Allow to dry completely.
- Ensure surfaces are dry and free of moisture before application.
Mixing and Dispensing
This is a two-component adhesive that requires proper mixing.
- Attach the provided mixing nozzle securely to the cartridge.
- Dispense a small amount of adhesive (approximately 1-2 inches) onto a scrap surface until both components are flowing evenly and the color is consistent. This purges any unmixed material from the nozzle.
- The adhesive is automatically mixed in the correct ratio as it passes through the static mixing nozzle.
Application
Apply the mixed adhesive to one of the prepared bonding surfaces.
- Apply a continuous bead of adhesive to the bonding flange or surface. Ensure complete coverage for a strong bond.
- Immediately join the two surfaces together within the specified working time.
- Apply firm, even pressure to ensure good contact between the surfaces and the adhesive. Clamping or fixturing may be necessary to maintain pressure during the set time.
- Remove any excess adhesive immediately with a suitable solvent before it cures.

Compatible Materials
SEM 39337 Door Skin and SMC Adhesive is formulated to bond the following materials:
- Steel
- Aluminum
- Fiberglass
- SMC (Sheet Molding Compound)
Storage and Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and effectiveness of the adhesive:
- Store the product in its original sealed container in a cool, dry place between 65°F (18°C) and 75°F (24°C).
- Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
- After use, replace the cap securely to prevent air and moisture exposure.
- Do not reuse mixing nozzles. Always use a new mixing nozzle for each application to ensure proper mixing.
Troubleshooting
- Poor Adhesion:
- Ensure surfaces were thoroughly cleaned and abraded before application.
- Verify that the adhesive was properly mixed (purge initial material from nozzle).
- Check if the application was done within the working time.
- Ensure sufficient clamping pressure was applied during the set time.
- Incomplete Curing:
- Confirm that the mixing nozzle was correctly attached and purged. Improper mixing is the most common cause of incomplete cure.
- Check ambient temperature; curing may be slower in colder conditions.
- Ensure the product has not expired.
- Excessive Run-off:
- Apply a thinner bead of adhesive.
- Ensure surfaces are level during application and initial set.
