Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your Landmann 12016ST Gas Patio Heater. Please read this manual thoroughly before attempting to assemble or operate the heater. Keep it for future reference.
Important Safety Information
WARNING: Failure to follow these instructions could result in fire, explosion, or carbon monoxide poisoning, which could cause property damage, personal injury, or death.
- Always operate the heater outdoors in a well-ventilated area. Never use it indoors or in enclosed spaces.
- Keep flammable materials at a safe distance from the heater.
- Ensure the anti-tilt safety device is functioning correctly. This device is designed to shut off the gas supply if the heater tips over.
- Do not store or use gasoline or other flammable vapors and liquids in the vicinity of this or any other appliance.
- Check all gas connections for leaks before each use.
- Keep children and pets away from the heater.
- Do not move the heater while it is in operation or still hot.
Setup and Assembly
The Landmann 12016ST Gas Patio Heater requires some assembly. Follow these general steps. Refer to the included assembly diagram for detailed instructions.
- Unpack Components: Carefully remove all parts from the packaging. Verify that all components listed in the parts list are present and undamaged.
- Assemble Base: Attach the wheels (if applicable) and any stabilizing feet to the base unit.
- Install Gas Cylinder Housing: Secure the gas cylinder housing to the base.
- Attach Main Pole: Connect the main support pole to the gas cylinder housing.
- Mount Burner Unit: Carefully attach the burner assembly to the top of the main pole.
- Install Reflector: Secure the aluminum heat reflector to the top of the burner unit.
- Connect Gas Hose and Regulator: Connect the provided BS hose and regulator to the heater's gas inlet and then to your gas cylinder. Ensure all connections are tight.
- Leak Test: Before first use, perform a leak test on all gas connections using a soapy water solution. Bubbles indicate a leak. Do not use the heater if a leak is detected.

Operating Instructions
- Gas Cylinder: Ensure a properly connected and full gas cylinder is installed in the base. Open the valve on the gas cylinder.
- Ignition: Turn the control knob to the "Pilot" position and push it in. Press the igniter button repeatedly until the pilot flame lights. Keep the knob pressed for 10-15 seconds to allow the thermocouple to heat up.
- Main Burner: Once the pilot is lit, release the control knob and turn it to the desired heat setting (Low to High). The main burner should ignite.
- Adjust Heat: Use the adjustable heat control knob to regulate the heat output as needed.
- Shut Down: To turn off the heater, turn the control knob to the "OFF" position. Close the valve on the gas cylinder.
Note: If the heater fails to ignite, ensure the gas supply is open and repeat the ignition steps. If issues persist, refer to the Troubleshooting section.
Maintenance and Care
- Cleaning: Clean the exterior surfaces with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure the heater is cool before cleaning.
- Reflector: Periodically wipe the aluminum reflector to maintain its efficiency.
- Gas Hose and Regulator: Inspect the gas hose and regulator regularly for signs of wear, cracks, or damage. Replace if necessary.
- Storage: When not in use for extended periods, disconnect the gas cylinder and store the heater in a dry, protected area. Using a protective cover is recommended.

Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Heater does not ignite. | No gas supply, clogged pilot, faulty igniter, air in gas line. | Check gas cylinder valve is open. Ensure cylinder is not empty. Bleed air from gas line by attempting ignition several times. Clean pilot opening. Check igniter spark. |
| Pilot light goes out after releasing knob. | Thermocouple not heated sufficiently, faulty thermocouple. | Hold control knob in for a longer period (15-20 seconds) after pilot lights. If problem persists, thermocouple may need replacement by a qualified technician. |
| Low heat output. | Low gas pressure, partially clogged burner, dirty reflector. | Check gas cylinder level. Ensure regulator is functioning correctly. Clean burner ports. Clean the aluminum reflector. |
| Gas smell detected. | Gas leak. | Immediately turn off gas supply at the cylinder. Perform a leak test with soapy water. Do not operate if a leak is found. Contact a qualified technician. |
| Assembly issues (e.g., threads jamming). | Misaligned parts, manufacturing defect. | Ensure parts are correctly aligned before tightening. Do not overtighten. If threads are damaged, contact customer support for replacement parts. |
