3. Installation Instructions

Before beginning installation, ensure the main water supply to your mobile home or RV is turned off. Clear the work area and have necessary tools ready. This faucet is designed for a 3-hole installation.

Tools You May Need:

  • Adjustable Wrench
  • Screwdriver
  • Plumber's Putty or Silicone Sealant
  • Flashlight (for tight spaces)

Installation Steps:

  1. Remove Old Faucet: If replacing an existing faucet, turn off the water supply, disconnect the water lines, and remove the old faucet from the tub/shower wall. Clean the mounting surface thoroughly.
  2. Prepare New Faucet: Apply plumber's putty or silicone sealant around the base of the new faucet to create a watertight seal against the tub/shower wall.
  3. Position Faucet: Insert the threaded shanks of the new faucet through the three mounting holes in the tub/shower wall. Ensure the faucet is properly aligned.
  4. Secure Faucet: From the backside of the wall, place washers over the threaded shanks and hand-tighten the mounting nuts. Use an adjustable wrench to carefully tighten the nuts, ensuring the faucet is secure but not overtightened, which could damage the plastic shanks.
  5. Connect Water Lines: Attach your hot and cold water supply lines to the corresponding threaded shanks on the faucet. Use plumber's tape on the threads to prevent leaks.
  6. Test for Leaks: Slowly turn the main water supply back on. Check all connections for leaks. If leaks occur, gently tighten the connections.

  • To return water flow to the tub spout, push the knob back down.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will help ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your Danco faucet.

Cleaning:

  • Clean the chrome finish and acrylic handles with a soft cloth and mild soap or a non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for chrome fixtures.
  • Avoid using abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or scouring pads, as these can damage the finish.
  • Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a soft cloth to prevent water spots.

Leak Prevention:

  • Periodically check all connections for any signs of leaks. Tighten connections gently if necessary.
  • If persistent leaks occur from the handles or spout, it may indicate worn washers or cartridges, which can be replaced.
