2. Software Installation

Insert the installation CD (if provided) or download the latest drivers and software from the official Microsoft support website. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the installation.

3. Fingerprint Registration

After software installation, launch the Fingerprint Registration Wizard. This wizard will guide you through the process of registering your fingerprints for each user account.

  1. Open the Fingerprint Registration software.
  2. Select the user account for which you want to register fingerprints.

Operating Instructions

Logging into Windows

Once your fingerprints are registered, you can log into your Windows user account by simply placing your registered finger on the Fingerprint Reader when prompted at the login screen. This allows for quick and secure access without typing a password.

Website Password Replacement

The Fingerprint Reader can replace passwords for your favorite websites. The first time you visit a site requiring a password after setup:

  1. Navigate to the website's login page.
  2. When prompted for a username and password, place your registered finger on the Fingerprint Reader.
  3. Manually enter your username and password into the respective fields.
  4. The software will associate your fingerprint with these credentials for future logins.
  5. The next time you visit that site, you can log in by simply touching the Fingerprint Reader.

Note: Compatibility with web browsers may vary. The device is primarily designed to integrate with Microsoft Internet Explorer. Functionality with other browsers like Mozilla Firefox or Opera may be limited or require specific configurations not officially supported.

Switching User Accounts

You can quickly switch between different Windows user accounts without closing open programs or files. Simply place the registered finger of the desired user on the Fingerprint Reader, and the system will switch to that user's session.

Maintenance

To ensure optimal performance and accurate fingerprint recognition, keep the optical sensor clean.

Troubleshooting

Fingerprint Not Recognized:
  • Ensure your finger is clean and dry.
  • Place your finger flat and centered on the sensor.
  • Try a different registered finger.
  • Re-register your fingerprint if recognition issues persist.
  • Clean the sensor surface as described in the Maintenance section.
Software Not Launching or Device Not Detected:
  • Verify the USB cable is securely connected to both the device and the computer.
  • Try a different USB port.
  • Reinstall the device drivers and software.
  • Check Device Manager in Windows to ensure the device is recognized and drivers are installed correctly.
Website Login Issues:
  • Confirm that the website's login credentials were correctly saved during the initial setup.
  • Ensure you are using a compatible web browser, primarily Microsoft Internet Explorer. Functionality with other browsers may be limited.
  • Some websites with complex login forms or search bars preceding login fields may not be fully compatible.
Windows Login Not Working:
  • Ensure the fingerprint login option is enabled in your Windows user account settings.
