1. Introduction

2. Safety Instructions

5. Setup

  3. Power Connection: Plug the AC power cord into a wall outlet.
  4. FM Antenna Connection: Connect the external FM antenna to the designated jack on the back of the unit. Extend the antenna wire for optimal reception.
  5. Auxiliary Output (Optional): If connecting to an external stereo receiver, use RCA cables (not included) to connect the auxiliary output jacks on the CR711 to the corresponding input jacks on your receiver.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1. Playing Records

  1. Power On: Turn the unit on using the power/volume knob.
  2. Select Function: Set the Function Selector to "PHONO" or "TURNTABLE".
  3. Select Speed: Choose the appropriate speed (33-1/3, 45, or 78 RPM) using the speed selector switch. For 45 RPM records with a large center hole, place the 45 RPM adapter on the center spindle.
  4. Place Record: Carefully place a record on the turntable platter.
  5. Prepare Tonearm: Release the tonearm lock. Gently lift the tonearm using the cueing lever.
  6. Position Tonearm: Move the tonearm over the desired starting track of the record.
  7. Lower Tonearm: Slowly lower the tonearm onto the record using the cueing lever. The platter will begin to spin automatically.
  8. Adjust Volume: Adjust the volume to your desired listening level.
  9. End of Play: When the record finishes, the tonearm will automatically return to its rest position, and the platter will stop spinning. Lift the tonearm, return it to the tonearm rest, and secure it with the lock.

6.2. Using the AM/FM Radio

  1. Power On: Turn the unit on using the power/volume knob.
  2. Select Function: Set the Function Selector to "AM" or "FM".
  3. Tune Station: Rotate the Tuning knob to select your desired radio station. The illuminated dial will indicate the frequency.
  4. Adjust Volume: Adjust the volume to your desired listening level.
  5. Improve Reception: For FM, extend and adjust the position of the external FM antenna. For AM, rotate the entire unit for best reception.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Unit: Wipe the exterior of the unit with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Cleaning the Stylus: Gently brush the stylus from back to front with a soft brush designed for stylus cleaning. Avoid touching the stylus with your fingers.
  • Stylus Replacement: The stylus (needle) has a limited lifespan. Replace it when you notice a decrease in sound quality or distortion. The compatible replacement needle is NP1. Refer to the manufacturer's instructions for proper replacement.
  • Record Care: Keep records clean and free of dust. Store them vertically in their sleeves to prevent warping.
