This manual provides instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your Westclox Model 47547 Digital Alarm Clock.

1. Introduction and Overview

The Westclox Model 47547 is a compact digital alarm clock designed for reliable timekeeping and wake-up functionality. It features an easy-to-read LCD display, an adjustable super loud alarm, and a convenient snooze function. The clock operates on batteries, offering portability.

2. Setup

2.1 Battery Installation

The Westclox Model 47547 alarm clock requires one 9V battery and two AAA batteries for operation. Batteries are not included.

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the bottom of the clock.
  2. Remove the cover by sliding or unlatching it.
  3. Insert one 9V battery, observing the correct polarity (+ and - terminals).
  4. Insert two AAA batteries, observing the correct polarity (+ and - terminals).
  5. Replace the battery compartment cover securely.

Upon successful battery installation, the LCD display will activate, typically showing a default time (e.g., 12:00 AM).

3. Operating Instructions

3.1 Setting the Time

  1. Press and hold the TIME button located on the top of the clock. The time display will begin to flash.
  2. While holding the TIME button, press the HOUR button to adjust the hour. Observe the AM/PM indicator for correct 12-hour format.
  3. While holding the TIME button, press the MIN button to adjust the minutes.
  4. Release the TIME button to set the current time.

3.2 Setting the Alarm

  1. Press and hold the ALARM button located on the top of the clock. The alarm time display will begin to flash.
  2. While holding the ALARM button, press the HOUR button to adjust the alarm hour.
  3. While holding the ALARM button, press the MIN button to adjust the alarm minutes.
  4. Release the ALARM button to set the alarm time.

3.3 Activating/Deactivating the Alarm

To turn the alarm on or off, use the ON/OFF switch located on the top right side of the clock. Slide the switch to the 'ON' position to activate the alarm, and to 'OFF' to deactivate it. An alarm icon will typically appear on the LCD when the alarm is active.

3.4 Adjusting Alarm Volume

The clock features an adjustable alarm volume. Use the LOUD/SOFT switch, usually located on the left side of the clock, to select your preferred alarm intensity.

3.5 Using the Snooze/Light Function

When the alarm sounds, press the large SNOOZE/LIGHT bar on the top of the clock to temporarily silence the alarm. The alarm will sound again after a few minutes (snooze duration is typically fixed). Pressing this bar when the alarm is not sounding will activate the blue backlight for a few seconds, allowing you to view the time in the dark.

4. Maintenance

4.1 Battery Replacement

When the display dims or the alarm sound weakens, it is time to replace the batteries. Follow the steps in Section 2.1 for battery installation. It is recommended to replace all batteries simultaneously for optimal performance.

4.2 Cleaning

To clean the clock, gently wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the clock in water. Ensure no moisture enters the device.
