3.1 Package Contents
Verify that all components are present before beginning installation. The package typically includes the fixture, mounting hardware, and an installation sheet.
3.2 Pre-Installation
- Turn off power at the main circuit breaker or fuse box.
- Carefully unpack the fixture and components.
3.3 Mounting the Fixture
This fixture is designed for wall mounting. Ensure the mounting surface is secure and can support the weight of the fixture.
- Attach the mounting bracket to the junction box using the provided screws.
- Ensure the bracket is level and securely fastened.
3.4 Electrical Connections
Connect the fixture wires to the house wires according to the following:
- Connect the black wire from the fixture to the black (hot) wire from the junction box.
- Connect the white wire from the fixture to the white (neutral) wire from the junction box.
- Connect the bare copper or green ground wire from the fixture to the green or bare copper ground wire from the junction box.

3.5 Securing the Fixture
- Carefully tuck all wires into the junction box.
- Align the fixture with the mounting bracket and secure it using the provided screws or nuts.
3.6 Bulb Installation
This fixture uses one (1) 100-Watt maximum, medium base (E26) bulb. An A19 shape bulb is recommended for optimal appearance with the clear glass.

- Screw the bulb into the socket until snug. Do not overtighten.
- This fixture is dimmable when used with compatible wall dimmers and dimmable light bulbs.
3.7 Recommended Placement
For aesthetic balance, wall lanterns are often sized to be approximately 1/4 the height of the door they flank.

Figure 3.2: Example of wall lantern height recommendation: 1/4 of the door height. For a 96-inch door, a 24-inch fixture is suggested.

4. Operation
Once installed and power is restored, the fixture operates by a standard wall switch. If a compatible dimmer switch and dimmable bulb are used, the light output can be adjusted.

5.1 Cleaning
To clean the fixture, turn off the power and wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents as they may damage the finish or glass.
5.2 Bulb Replacement
Before replacing the bulb, ensure the power is turned off at the circuit breaker. Allow the bulb to cool completely before touching. Replace with a new 100-Watt maximum, E26 base bulb.
6. Troubleshooting
- Light does not turn on:
- Check that the power is turned on at the circuit breaker.
- Ensure the bulb is securely screwed into the socket and is not burnt out.
- Verify all electrical connections are secure.
- Inspect for any defective electrical components or wiring.
- Fuse blows or circuit breaker trips:
- Check for crossed wires or short circuits.
- Ensure the bulb wattage does not exceed the fixture's maximum rating (100W).
