Timex Expedition Metal Field 39mm Analog Watch User Manual

Model: T40051

Introduction

This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the operation and maintenance of your Timex Expedition Metal Field 39mm Analog Watch, Model T40051. Please read these instructions carefully to ensure proper use and to maximize the lifespan of your timepiece.

Setup

How to Start Your Watch

If your watch is equipped with an e-guard (a small plastic insert between the case and the crown), it must be removed before the watch can begin operation. Gently pull the e-guard downward, perpendicular to the back of the watch case, to remove it.

Operating Instructions

Time-of-Day Setting

  1. Pull the CROWN out to the SET 2 Position. The second hand will stop moving.
  2. Rotate the CROWN clockwise to move the hour and minute hands until the correct time is displayed.
  3. Note: When setting the time, observe the AM or PM hands position, especially when passing the 12 o’clock to 1 o’clock mark. If the date changes, the time is currently in the AM. If no date change occurs, the time is in the PM.
  4. Push the CROWN back in to the ZERO Position. The second hand should resume operation after one second.

Date Setting (Quick Date Feature)

This feature is applicable to watch styles with the Quick Date function, such as the T40051 model.

  1. Pull the CROWN to the SET 1 Position.
  2. Rotate the CROWN in either direction until the current date is displayed. The date numeral will increase or decrease depending on the crown's rotation direction.
  3. Push the CROWN back in to the ZERO Position.
  4. Note: If date setting occurs between 10:00 PM and 2:00 AM, the date numeral adjustment should only be performed in the incremental direction to avoid incorrect date advancement.

INDIGLO® Night-Light Activation

The T40051 model features the INDIGLO® night-light for illumination in low-light conditions. The word “INDIGLO” is typically printed on the watch display area.

  1. Push the CROWN inward. The watch display will illuminate with a blue-green or blue light.
  2. Releasing the CROWN back to the ZERO Position will turn off the INDIGLO® light.
  3. Note: Due to technical limitations, some products may exhibit a small unlighted area at the 6 o’clock or 12 o’clock location on the dial when INDIGLO® is activated. This is a normal characteristic and not a defect.

Maintenance

Water Resistance

Your Timex Expedition watch is water resistant to 50 meters (165 feet). This rating means the watch is suitable for short periods of recreational swimming. It is not suitable for diving or snorkeling. Avoid operating the crown or pushers while the watch is wet or submerged to prevent water intrusion.

Battery Information

The watch requires 1 Lithium Metal battery (included). When the battery needs replacement, it is recommended to have it replaced by a qualified watch technician to ensure proper sealing and maintain water resistance.
