Setup
1. Attaching the Lens to Your Camera
- Ensure your camera is turned off.
- Remove the rear lens cap from the lens and the body cap from your camera.
- Align the mounting index mark on the lens with the corresponding mark on your camera body.
- Insert the lens into the camera mount and rotate it clockwise (or counter-clockwise, depending on your camera mount) until it clicks securely into place. Do not force the lens.
2. Removing Lens Caps
Before use, gently remove the front lens cap by pinching its sides and lifting it off. Remove the rear lens cap by twisting it counter-clockwise.
3. Attaching the Lens Hood
The included lens hood helps to reduce flare and protect the front element of the lens. Align the lens hood with the front of the lens and twist it gently until it locks into position.

Operating the Lens
1. Manual Focus
This is a manual focus lens. To focus, rotate the focus ring located on the barrel of the lens until your subject appears sharp in the viewfinder or on your camera's LCD screen. The focus distance scale (in meters and feet) is marked on the lens barrel to assist with zone focusing or pre-focusing.
2. Aperture Adjustment
The aperture (f-stop) controls the amount of light entering the lens and the depth of field. Rotate the aperture ring, located closer to the camera body, to select your desired f-stop. The lens features an aperture range from f/2.5 to f/22.

3. Depth of Field Scale
The lens includes a depth of field scale, which indicates the range of distances that will appear acceptably sharp at a given aperture setting. This is particularly useful for street photography and landscape photography.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning the Lens
- Use a blower brush to remove dust and loose particles from the lens surfaces.
- For smudges or fingerprints, use a clean, soft microfiber cloth specifically designed for optics, along with a small amount of lens cleaning fluid. Apply the fluid to the cloth, not directly to the lens.
- Never use abrasive materials, solvents, or harsh chemicals.
2. Storage
- Always attach both front and rear lens caps when the lens is not in use.
- Store the lens in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- If storing for extended periods, consider using a desiccant to prevent mold and mildew.
3. General Care
- Avoid dropping or subjecting the lens to strong impacts.
- Do not attempt to disassemble the lens, as this will void the warranty and may cause damage.
- Protect the lens from water and excessive humidity.
Troubleshooting
1. Image is Blurry
- Ensure the lens is properly focused. This is a manual focus lens, so precise adjustment is required.
- Check your camera's shutter speed. If it's too slow, camera shake can cause blur.
- Verify that the lens elements are clean and free from smudges or dust.
2. Lens Not Attaching Securely
- Ensure the lens and camera mount are clean and free of obstructions.
- Align the mounting marks correctly and rotate until a click is heard.
- Confirm compatibility with your camera's lens mount (Leica M-mount compatible).
3. Dust Inside Lens
Minor dust particles inside a lens are common and rarely affect image quality. If large particles or significant debris are present and affecting images, contact an authorized service center. Do not attempt to clean the interior of the lens yourself.
