5. Operating Instructions
The Breville JE900 features a powerful 600-watt motor designed for efficient juicing.
5.1 Preparing Produce
- Wash all fruits and vegetables thoroughly.
- Most fruits and vegetables, such as apples and tomatoes, can be juiced whole due to the extra-wide feed tube.
- For larger items, cut them into pieces that fit comfortably into the feed chute.
- Remove large seeds or pits from fruits like peaches, cherries, or mangoes before juicing.
- Remove thick, inedible skins from fruits such as oranges, lemons, and pineapples.
5.2 Juicing Process
- Ensure the juicer is correctly assembled and the safety locking arm is securely in place.
- Plug the power cord into a grounded electrical outlet.
- Place the juice jug with the froth separator under the juice spout.
- Turn the juicer ON using the power switch located on the motor base.
- With the motor running, feed prepared fruits and vegetables into the feed chute using the food pusher. Apply gentle, even pressure. Do not force produce down the chute, as this can affect juice yield and potentially damage the motor.
- The juicer will extract juice into the jug and collect pulp in the pulp container.
- When finished juicing, turn the power switch OFF and unplug the juicer from the outlet.
Note: The large capacity slide-out pulp container allows for continuous juicing without frequent emptying. For optimal performance, empty the pulp container when it reaches its maximum capacity or when juicing is complete.
6. Cleaning and Maintenance

6.2 Cleaning Procedure
- Removable Parts: Wash the food pusher, juicer cover, filter bowl surround, pulp container, and juice jug in warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly. These parts may also be placed on the top rack of a dishwasher.
- Stainless Steel Filter Basket: This part requires special attention. Use the provided cleaning brush to scrub the micromesh filter thoroughly under running water. If pulp is left to dry, it can clog the fine mesh holes, reducing juicing efficiency. For stubborn pulp, soak the filter basket in warm, soapy water for approximately 10 minutes before scrubbing.
- Motor Base: Wipe the motor base with a soft, damp cloth. Never immerse the motor base in water or any other liquid.
- Stains: For stubborn stains on plastic parts, a non-abrasive liquid cleanser or spray can be used.
6.3 Storage
Store the cleaned and dried juicer in a cool, dry place. You can store it assembled or disassembled, depending on your preference and available space. The base features a cord-wrap for tidy storage.
