Introduction
The Hasbro Classic Parcheesi Board Game is a traditional race-and-chase game designed for 2 to 4 players. The objective is to move all four of your pawns from your starting area, around the board, and into your home space before your opponents do. This manual provides detailed instructions for game setup, rules of play, and product care.
Game Components
Before starting, ensure all components are present:
- 1 Gameboard (20"x20")
- 16 Pawns (4 Water Buffalo, 4 Elephant, 4 Tiger, 4 Camel - each set in a distinct color)
- 2 Dice

Setup
- Unfold the Gameboard: Place the gameboard on a flat surface. Ensure it is fully unfolded and lies flat.
- Choose Colors and Pawns: Each player selects a set of four pawns of the same color (Water Buffalo, Elephant, Tiger, or Camel).
- Place Pawns in Start: Each player places their four pawns in their designated "Start" area, which matches their pawn color.
- Dice Placement: Place the two dice within easy reach of all players.

How to Play
Objective
Be the first player to move all four of your pawns from your "Start" area, around the board, and into your "Home" space.
Game Flow
- Starting the Game:
- Players roll one die. The player with the highest roll goes first. Play proceeds clockwise.
- To move a pawn out of your "Start" area onto the main track, you must roll a 5 on one of the dice. If you roll a 5, you can place one pawn on your starting space (the colored circle next to your "Start" area). You then use the value of the other die to move that pawn or another pawn already on the track.
- If you roll two 5s, you can move two pawns out to their starting spaces, or move one pawn out and use the other 5 to move another pawn.
- Moving Pawns:
- On your turn, roll both dice. You can move one pawn the total of both dice, or move two different pawns, one for each die roll. For example, if you roll a 3 and a 4, you can move one pawn 7 spaces, or one pawn 3 spaces and another pawn 4 spaces.
- Moves must be made in a clockwise direction around the board.
- All spaces are counted, including those occupied by other pawns.
- Capturing Opponent's Pawns:
- If your pawn lands on a space occupied by an opponent's pawn, the opponent's pawn is "captured" and sent back to their "Start" area. The captured pawn must then roll a 5 to re-enter the game.
- You cannot capture a pawn that is on a "Safety Zone" (the colored spaces leading to the "Home" area) or a "Blockade" (see below).
- Blockades:
- If two of your pawns occupy the same space, they form a "blockade." No other pawn (yours or an opponent's) can pass through a blockade.
- Blockades can be broken by moving one of the pawns.
- Entering Home:
- Once a pawn has completed its journey around the board, it enters its own colored "Safety Zone" and then moves towards the central "Home" space.
- To enter the "Home" space, a pawn must be moved by an exact roll of the dice. If you roll more than needed, you cannot move that pawn into "Home" on that turn.
- Bonus Rolls:
- If you roll doubles (e.g., two 3s), you get an additional turn.
- If you capture an opponent's pawn, you get a bonus move of 20 spaces, which can be used by any of your pawns.
- If you move a pawn into your "Home" space, you get a bonus move of 10 spaces, which can be used by any of your pawns.

Care and Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the gameboard and pawns with a dry, soft cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or liquids, as they may damage the surfaces.
- Storage: Store all game components in their original box in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent warping or fading.
- Handling: Handle pawns and dice carefully to prevent loss or damage.
Troubleshooting
- Missing Components: If any game components are missing upon opening, please contact Hasbro customer support for assistance.
- Damaged Components: If any components are damaged, contact Hasbro customer support.
- Game Board Not Lying Flat: Ensure the game board is unfolded completely and placed on a flat, stable surface. Gentle pressure can help flatten it over time.
