5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Using the Laser Line Generator
- Mount the unit securely at the desired height.
- Activate the laser line function. The built-in pendulum will automatically level the unit, projecting a horizontal laser line.
- The laser line is typically visible up to 10 feet in either direction under normal indoor lighting conditions.
- For extended visibility up to 50 feet in either direction (total 100 feet), use the included target cones. Place the cones at the desired points to capture and enhance the laser light.
5.2 Using the Stud Finder
- Ensure the unit is held flat against the wall surface.
- Activate the stud finder function.
- Slowly slide the unit horizontally across the wall.
- The stud finder detects changes in wall density. It provides both an LED indicator and an audible alarm to signal the edge of a stud.
- The stud finder is effective through walls up to 3/4 inch thick.
6. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the unit with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Keep the laser output window clean for optimal performance.
- Battery Care: Replace the 9-volt battery when the indicators dim or the unit's performance decreases. Remove the battery if the tool will not be used for an extended period to prevent corrosion.
- Storage: Store the BullsEye in its protective storage case when not in use to prevent damage from impacts or dust.
7. Troubleshooting
- Laser Line Appears Uneven or Inaccurate: Ensure the unit is placed on a stable, flat surface or securely mounted. Allow the internal pendulum sufficient time to self-level. Avoid vibrations during operation.
- Laser Line Not Visible: Check battery level. Ensure the work area is not excessively bright. Use the target cones to enhance visibility, especially in brighter conditions or over longer distances.
- Stud Finder Not Detecting: Ensure the unit is held flat against the wall and moved slowly. Verify battery level. The stud finder may have difficulty with certain wall materials or very deep studs.
- Unit Not Powering On: Check battery installation and ensure the battery has sufficient charge.
