The USB Bluetooth Receiver facilitates wireless communication between the presenter and your computer. It is a dedicated receiver and may not be compatible with other Bluetooth devices.

Setup

1. System Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows 98, Me, 2000, or XP.
  • Available USB port.
  • CD-ROM drive (for software installation, if applicable).

Note: While the device uses Bluetooth technology, it requires the included USB receiver for Windows PCs. Compatibility with Mac OS X may require third-party software and specific configuration steps, as detailed in user experiences.

2. Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment on the underside of the presenter (refer to Figure 2).
  2. Open the battery compartment cover.
  3. Insert two AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
  4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

3. Connecting the USB Receiver

  1. Plug the USB Bluetooth Receiver (refer to Figure 3) into an available USB port on your computer.
  2. Your computer should automatically detect and install the necessary drivers.

4. Software Installation (Optional)

The Logitech Cordless Presenter is generally plug-and-play for basic presentation functions. For advanced customization of mouse buttons, install the Logitech MouseWare software from the included CD-ROM or download it from the official Logitech support website.

Operating Instructions

Power On/Off

Locate the power-saving switch on the underside of the presenter. Slide it to the "ON" position to activate the device and to the "OFF" position when not in use to maximize battery life.

Presentation Mode

In presentation mode, the primary function is to navigate slides and use the laser pointer.

  • Slide Navigation: Use the designated forward and backward buttons on the presenter to move through your presentation slides.
  • Laser Pointer: Press and hold the laser pointer button (typically located on the underside or a dedicated button) to activate the red laser beam. Release the button to turn off the laser.

Mouse Mode

The presenter can also function as a two-button optical mouse.

  • Switching Modes: A dedicated switch on the presenter allows you to toggle between presentation and mouse modes.
  • Mouse Functionality: Once in mouse mode, move the presenter across a surface to control the cursor on your screen. It operates as a standard two-button optical mouse, eliminating the need for a mouse pad.

Maintenance

Battery Replacement

When the presenter's performance diminishes or the indicator light signals low power, replace the two AA batteries. Refer to the "Battery Installation" section under Setup for instructions.

Tip: It is recommended to remove batteries if the device will be stored for an extended period to prevent potential leakage.

Cleaning

Wipe the exterior of the presenter with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

Troubleshooting

Presenter Not Responding

  • Ensure the presenter is powered on.
  • Check battery levels and replace if necessary.
  • Verify the USB receiver is securely plugged into a working USB port.
  • Ensure the presenter is within the operational range (up to 30 feet) of the receiver.
  • Try plugging the USB receiver into a different USB port.

Slide Navigation Issues

  • Confirm the presenter is in presentation mode, not mouse mode.
  • Ensure your presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint) is the active window.
  • For Mac OS X users, specific configuration or third-party software (like USB Overdrive) may be required to enable full functionality, as the device is not officially supported on Mac OS X.

Laser Pointer Not Working

  • Ensure the presenter is powered on.
  • Check battery levels.
  • Confirm you are pressing the correct button for the laser.

Mouse Functionality Issues

  • Ensure the presenter is switched to mouse mode.
  • Clean the optical sensor on the underside of the presenter.
  • Ensure you are using it on a suitable surface; while it doesn't require a mouse pad, some reflective or uneven surfaces may affect tracking.
