Setup and Assembly
Before first use, carefully unpack all components and remove any packaging materials. Wash the pot, lid, and sealing ring with warm, soapy water, then rinse thoroughly and dry. Ensure all parts are clean and free of debris.
Lid Assembly:
- Insert the sealing ring securely into the rim of the lid. Ensure it is seated correctly to create an airtight seal.
- Attach the pressure indicator and control valve components to their designated positions on the lid. Refer to the detailed diagrams in the included manual for precise placement.

Place the perforated insert and trivet at the bottom of the pressure cooker if required for your recipe (e.g., for steaming or canning). Always ensure the pressure cooker is placed on a stable, level surface before use.
Operating Instructions
Filling the Cooker:
- Add food and the required amount of liquid to the pressure cooker. Do not overfill. For most foods, the cooker should not be more than two-thirds full. For foods that expand (e.g., rice, dried beans), do not fill more than halfway.
Securing the Lid:
- Align the lid with the pot and rotate the handle until it locks securely into place. The pressure indicator should be fully lowered.
Building Pressure:
- Place the cooker on a stovetop burner over high heat. Once steam begins to escape steadily from the vent, reduce heat to maintain the desired pressure level as indicated by the pressure gauge.
- The WMF Perfect Plus features an audible safety indicator that signals if pressure becomes excessive, prompting you to reduce heat.
Releasing Pressure:
- Natural Release: Remove the cooker from heat and allow pressure to drop naturally. This is suitable for foods that benefit from additional cooking time.
- Quick Release: For faster pressure release, carefully activate the quick release valve (if available on your model) or run cold water over the lid (avoiding the valve area). Always ensure the pressure indicator is fully lowered before attempting to open the lid.
Caution: Never force the lid open. Ensure all pressure has been released before opening the cooker.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Daily Cleaning:
- After each use, wash the pot, lid, and sealing ring with warm, soapy water. The handle can be detached for easier cleaning.
- Ensure all food particles are removed from the sealing ring and valve components to maintain proper function.
- The stainless steel pot is dishwasher safe. Hand wash the lid and sealing ring to prolong their lifespan.
Regular Inspection:
- Periodically inspect the sealing ring for cracks, hardening, or damage. Replace it if any signs of wear are present to ensure a proper seal.
- Check the pressure release valve and safety valve for blockages. Clean them as needed to ensure they operate freely.
Store the pressure cooker with the lid inverted or slightly ajar to prevent odors and allow air circulation.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Pressure not building | Lid not sealed properly, insufficient liquid, damaged sealing ring. | Ensure lid is securely locked. Add more liquid if necessary. Inspect and replace sealing ring if damaged. |
| Steam escaping from lid edges | Sealing ring improperly seated or damaged, food debris on rim. | Reposition or replace sealing ring. Clean lid rim and pot edge thoroughly. |
| Food undercooked | Insufficient cooking time, pressure too low. | Increase cooking time or ensure correct pressure level is maintained. |
| Food overcooked | Excessive cooking time, pressure too high. | Reduce cooking time or lower heat to maintain correct pressure. |
