This image illustrates the process of adding the included paraffin wax into the main basin of the HoMedics ParaSpa Deluxe Paraffin Bath. The unit is white with a control dial visible on the front.
- Plug the unit into a 120V AC electrical outlet. The red "Power" indicator light will illuminate.
- Turn the control dial to the "Hot" setting. The green "Heater On" indicator light will illuminate.
- Allow approximately 2-2.5 hours for the wax to melt completely. The green "Heater On" light will turn off once the wax reaches the maximum temperature.
- Once the wax is melted, turn the control dial to the "Low" or "Med" setting for a comfortable temperature. Wait approximately 15-20 minutes for the wax to cool to a safe and comfortable temperature for dipping.
- Before dipping, test the wax temperature on a small area of your wrist to ensure it is comfortable and not too hot.
Operating Instructions
- Wash the area to be treated (hands, elbows, or feet) thoroughly and dry completely.
- Slowly immerse the area into the melted paraffin wax. Remove immediately. Wait a few seconds for the wax to solidify.
- Repeat this dipping process 3-5 times, allowing each layer to harden slightly before re-dipping. This builds up a thick wax layer.
- For extended heat therapy, place a plastic liner (provided) over the waxed area. This helps retain heat and moisture.
- Allow the wax to remain on the skin for 10-20 minutes.
- To remove the wax, peel it off the skin. The wax should come off easily. Discard the used wax. Do not reuse wax that has been removed from the skin.
- After treatment, apply a moisturizer to the treated area if desired.
Note: Always ensure the wax is at a comfortable temperature before dipping. Never leave the unit unattended while operating.
Maintenance and Cleaning
Cleaning the Unit:
- Always unplug the unit from the electrical outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
- To clean the exterior, wipe with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
- Never immerse the unit in water or any other liquid.
Replacing Wax:
- The paraffin wax can be reused for personal use. However, it is recommended to replace the wax after approximately 20-30 uses, or if it appears dirty or contaminated.
- To remove old wax, ensure the unit is unplugged and cooled. The wax will solidify. You can then gently pry out the solid block of wax.
- Discard the old wax and follow the "Setup Instructions" to add new paraffin wax.
Storage:
- Store the unit in a cool, dry place.
- Do not wrap the power cord around the unit.
