- Close the CompactFlash card slot cover securely.
- Note: The camera will prompt you to format a new card upon first use. Formatting erases all data on the card.
6. Operating the Camera
6.1. Powering On/Off
To power on the camera, slide the POWER switch located on the top or rear of the camera to the ON position. To power off, slide the switch to the OFF position.
6.2. Taking Pictures (Capture Mode)
- Set the Mode Dial to CAPTURE.
- Framing: Look through the optical viewfinder or use the LCD screen to compose your shot.
- Zoom: Use the zoom buttons (usually marked 'W' for Wide and 'T' for Telephoto) to adjust the 2x optical zoom. The camera also features a 3x digital zoom, which can be activated for further magnification, though it may reduce image quality.
- Focus: The camera features automatic autofocus. Press the shutter button halfway down to allow the camera to focus. A focus indicator will confirm when focus is achieved.
- Shutter: Press the shutter button fully down to take the picture. Hold the camera steady until the image is captured. There may be a slight delay between pressing the shutter and the image being recorded.
6.3. Flash Modes
