Setup and Assembly

The Neutrik NP3RX-BAG is designed for easy assembly onto a cable. Follow these steps for proper installation:

Disassembled Neutrik NP3RX-BAG components: shell, strain relief, and plug body

  1. Prepare the Cable: Strip the outer jacket of your audio cable to expose the conductors. Strip the insulation from each conductor to the appropriate length for soldering.
  2. Thread Components: Slide the outer shell and the strain relief boot onto the cable in that order. Ensure they are oriented correctly.
  3. Solder Connections: Carefully solder the cable conductors to the corresponding solder pads on the plug's internal contacts. The NP3RX-BAG is a 3-conductor (TRS) plug, typically used for stereo audio or balanced mono signals. Ensure correct polarity (Tip, Ring, Sleeve).
  4. Secure Strain Relief: Once soldering is complete and connections are verified, slide the strain relief boot forward to secure the cable. This prevents tension on the solder joints.
  5. Assemble Shell: Carefully slide the outer shell over the plug body until it clicks or screws into place, fully enclosing the connections.

Operation

Once assembled, the Neutrik NP3RX-BAG functions as a standard 1/4-inch right-angle audio plug. Insert it firmly into compatible 1/4-inch jacks on audio equipment such as guitars, keyboards, mixers, amplifiers, or audio interfaces. The right-angle design helps save space and reduce strain on cables in tight setups.
