Studio Display

Display.
- Studio Display is a 27-inch display with 5K Retina resolution, which means you have plenty of room for working on projects, watching movies and TV shows, and surfing the web, all with outstanding image quality.
Camera.
- The 12MP Center Stage camera keeps you looking your best when you’re onscreen. With Center Stage, your video calls are even more engaging. Center Stage adjusts the camera, making sure you stay front and center even as you move around or have others join your call.
Speakers.
- Your Studio Display has an innovative six-speaker system. The two pairs of dual force-canceling woofers deliver bold, articulate bass and reduce unwanted vibration; the two high-performance tweeters allow you to enjoy a full range of sound, creating a robust, high-quality audio experience with accurate mids and crisp highs.
- The speakers also support Spatial Audio. With Spatial Audio, you can enjoy an immersive, theater-like environment while watching videos with Dolby Atmos, rock out like you’re in the front row when listening to songs on Apple Music, or feel like you’re in the room with your friends and family while on FaceTime.
Microphones.
- Three studio-quality microphones capture super-clear audio so you’re sure to make your point while videoconferencing or on phone calls. The high signal-to-noise ratio makes it easier than ever to record crystal-clear podcasts and voice memos.
Tip:
- Say “Hey Siri” to activate Siri using your Studio Display and use Siri for many tasks. To place a call, say something like “Make a FaceTime call to Sharon.” You can also use Siri to schedule meetings, change settings, get answers, send messages, and add items to your calendar.

True Tone.
- True Tone automatically adapts the color of the display to match the light in your environment. Using an ambient light sensor, True Tone adjusts to your overall lighting environment, making your viewing experience feel natural. For more information, see Displays settings on Mac.
P3 wide color.
- A P3 wide color gamut provides a vibrant, true-to-life color palette so you can experience the full range of colors of images and video.
Ports.
- Use the Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C)
port on your Studio Display to connect your Mac or iPad to your display.
- Your Studio Display also has three USB-C ports you can use to connect and charge devices and accessories. You can transfer data at up to 10 Gbps when connecting external storage devices or use an adapter for USB devices with other types of connectors.

Connect Studio Display

- Use the camera on Studio Display with your Mac
- When you connect your Studio Display to your Mac, you can use the 12MP Ultra Wide camera with Center Stage with apps such as FaceTime. Learn how to use Center Stage with your Studio Display.
Use reference modes in macOS
- For professional workflows on Mac such as video editing or photography, you can choose from many reference modes suitable for different production environments. Each reference mode sets the color space, white point, gamma, and brightness on your display to match the production requirements of HD, SD video, and other media types. Learn how to choose reference modes in macOS. Depending on the needs of your workflow, you can also fine-tune the calibration of your display.
Cleaning your display
- If your display has nano-texture glass, use the included polishing cloth to clean the nano-texture glass on your display. If your display has standard glass, learn how to clean the display.

Stay in view with Center Stage.
- Center Stage uses machine learning to adjust the camera on your Studio Display, expanding and zooming so you stay in the frame during video calls even when you move around or have others join or leave your call. Center Stage is on by default. To turn Center Stage on or off, click
in the menu bar, then click Center Stage. See Use video conferencing features.
Change the reference mode.
- Studio Display has several reference modes that tailor the display’s color, brightness, gamma, and white point to match the reference requirements for each media type, including modes for broader use cases such as photography, internet and web development, and design and print. For more information, see the Apple Support article Use reference modes with your Apple display.

Stay focused with Dark Mode.
- You can use a dark color scheme for the desktop, menu bar, Dock, and all the built-in macOS apps. Dark Mode is finely tuned for professionals who edit photos and images—colors and fine details pop against the dark app backgrounds.
- But it’s also great for anyone who just wants to focus on their content. Your content stands out front and center while darkened controls and windows recede into the background.
- See white text on a black background in apps such as Mail, Contacts, Calendar, and Messages, so it’s easier on your eyes when you’re working in dark environments.
Use a dynamic desktop.
- When you use a dynamic wallpaper, the picture automatically changes to match the time of day in your location.
- Click Wallpaper in the sidebar in System Settings, then choose a dynamic wallpaper. To have your screen change based on your time zone, turn on Location Services.
- If Location Services is turned off, the picture changes based on the time zone specified in Date & Time settings.
Night Shift.
- Switch your Mac to warmer colors at night or in low-light conditions to reduce your exposure to bright blue light. Blue light can make it harder to fall asleep, so warmer screen colors may help you get a better night’s rest.
- You can schedule Night Shift to turn on and off automatically at specific times, or set it to come on from sunset to sunrise. In System Settings, click Displays, click the Night Shift button at the bottom, then set your options.
- 4Drag the slider to adjust the color temperature.
Adjust the stand

- Your Apple Studio Display comes with a built-in stand. Depending on your stand, you can adjust the tilt or tilt and height of your display.
Tilt your display
- You can tilt your Studio Display to change the viewing angle. You can tilt your display upward (up to 25 degrees) or downward (up to 5 degrees).

Change the height of your display.
- If you have a tilt- and height-adjustable stand, you can change the height of your display (up to a total of 105 mm/4.13 inches). Use two hands to lift the display.

Clean Studio Display
- If your Apple Studio Display has nano-texture glass, clean it only using the included polishing cloth. See the Apple Support article How to clean the nano-texture glass on your Apple display.
- For additional cloths, visit apple.com, your local Apple Store, or other resellers.

- Note: For infrequent cleaning of hard-to-remove substances on nano-texture glass or standard glass, you can use a 70% Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) solution.
