- 5pcs kit: 5 x PIR motion detectors (batteries included)
- 10pcs kit: 10 x PIR motion detectors (batteries included)
5. Installation
5.1 Choosing an Installation Location
- The sensor is designed for indoor use only. Do not install it outdoors or in areas exposed to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
- Avoid placing the sensor near heat sources (e.g., heaters, air conditioners, vents) or in direct drafts, as this can cause false alarms.
- Install the sensor in a location where its detection area covers the desired entry points or high-traffic zones.
- The recommended installation height is approximately 2 meters (6.5 feet) from the floor. This height helps optimize detection and minimize false alarms.
5.2 Mounting the Sensor
- Identify the desired mounting location on a wall.
- Use the provided screws to attach the installation stent (bracket) securely to the wall.
- Slide the PIR motion detector onto the installed stent. Ensure it clicks into place firmly.
- Adjust the angle of the sensor on the stent to optimize the detection coverage.

5.3 Detection Coverage
The sensor offers a wide detection area:
- Horizontal Angle: 110 degrees
- Vertical Angle: 60 degrees
- Detection Distance: The sensor can detect movement from approximately 19 to 26 feet away when installed at the recommended height.

6. Operation
6.1 Powering On/Off
Locate the ON/OFF switch on the side of the sensor (refer to Figure 6). Slide the switch to the 'ON' position to activate the sensor and to 'OFF' to power it down.
6.2 Pairing with Alarm System
Once powered on, the sensor needs to be paired with your compatible KERUI alarm system. Refer to your alarm system's manual for specific instructions on how to add wireless sensors. Typically, this involves putting the alarm panel into 'learning' or 'pairing' mode and then triggering the PIR sensor (e.g., by moving in front of it) to register it with the system.
6.3 Alarm Indication
When motion is detected, the sensor's red alarm indicator light will illuminate briefly, and a signal will be sent to your connected alarm system.
7. Maintenance
7.1 Battery Replacement
The sensor is powered by a 9V 6F22 battery. The typical battery life is around 3 to 4 months, but this can vary depending on usage frequency. The sensor features a low power indication. If the motion sensor's red light isn't on when motion is detected, or if it fails to trigger the host alarm system, it's time to replace the battery.
- Carefully remove the sensor from its mounting bracket.
- Open the battery compartment.
- Remove the old 9V 6F22 battery.
- Insert a new 9V 6F22 battery, ensuring correct polarity.
- Close the battery compartment and reattach the sensor to its bracket.

7.2 Cleaning
To maintain optimal performance, periodically clean the detection window with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents.
7.3 Environmental Considerations
This sensor is not waterproof and is suitable for indoor use only. Please keep it in a cool and shaded place to prevent false alarms caused by high temperatures.

8. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Sensor not detecting motion or triggering alarm. | Low battery, sensor is off, not properly paired with alarm system, obstruction in detection path. | Check battery and replace if necessary. Ensure the ON/OFF switch is in the 'ON' position. Re-pair the sensor with your alarm system. Clear any obstructions. |
| Frequent false alarms. | Incorrect installation height, sensor exposed to direct heat/cold drafts, pets or moving objects in detection area, high ambient temperature. | Ensure installation height is approx. 2m. Relocate sensor away from heat sources, vents, or direct sunlight. Adjust sensor angle or consider using tape to narrow the detection window if pets are causing issues. Ensure sensor is in a cool, shaded place. |
| Sensor red light not illuminating. | Low battery. | Replace the 9V 6F22 battery. |
| Difficulty adjusting detection distance. | The detection distance is not directly adjustable via a setting. | While the distance itself isn't adjustable, you can modify the detection spot by carefully covering parts of the sensor's detection window with electrical tape. |
9. User Tips
- For optimal performance and to minimize false alarms, ensure the sensor is installed at the recommended height of approximately 2 meters (6.5 feet).
- If you experience false alarms due to pets or specific environmental factors, consider partially covering the detection window with electrical tape to narrow the field of view.
- Always ensure your KERUI PIR motion sensor is properly paired with your main alarm system (e.g., W18, W181, W20, H01 Live Sound Siren) as it cannot function independently. Check your alarm system's manual for pairing instructions.
- Regularly check the sensor's red indicator light and replace the battery promptly when it shows signs of low power or failure to trigger the alarm.
