4. Setup Instructions

4.1 Powering the Indoor Display Unit

The indoor display unit can be powered by either the included USB power cable or 2x AA batteries (not included).

1. USB Power: Connect the USB power cable to the power input port on the back of the display unit and plug the other end into a suitable USB power adapter (not included).
2. Battery Power: Open the battery compartment on the back of the display unit and insert 2x AA batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Batteries serve as a backup power source, allowing the station to function when disconnected from USB, though network data updates require USB power.

4.2 Outdoor Sensor Installation

1. Location Selection: Choose an open area for the outdoor sensor to ensure accurate readings for rainfall, wind speed, wind direction, and light data. Ensure it is within 100 meters (300 feet) of the indoor display unit, with minimal obstructions. The sensor is IPX4 waterproof.

4.3 TUYA APP Connection

The weather station connects to the TUYA APP via WiFi and Bluetooth for smart features and automatic network timing.

1. Download App: Download the TUYA APP from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
2. Register/Login: Create an account or log in to your existing TUYA account.
3. Add Device: Follow the in-app instructions to add a new device. The app will guide you through connecting the weather station using its WiFi and Bluetooth capabilities.
4. Network Timing: Once connected, the weather station will automatically calibrate its time using network services.

5.1 Basic Display Functions

The indoor display unit provides a clear, multi-color display of various weather parameters.

• Temperature & Humidity: Displays indoor and outdoor temperature (in ℃ or ℉) and humidity (%).
• Wind Data: Shows current wind speed (km/hour or miles/hour) and wind direction (0-359 degrees).
• Rainfall: Measures and displays rainfall in millimeters or inches.
• Light & UV Index: Displays light intensity (klux/kfc) and UV index (0-15 levels, with a 5-level exposure indicator).
• Air Quality: Shows TVOC concentration (mg/m3) with an 8-level prompt.
• Time & Date: Displays current time (12/24 hour format), day of the week, and date.
• Weather Forecast: Provides 6 sets of weather forecasts (sunny, mostly cloudy, cloudy, rainy, thunder rainy, snow) based on network data updates. These forecasts are for reference; consult professional meteorological agencies for accurate forecasts.

5.2 Setting the Alarm Clock

The weather station features a dual alarm clock with a snooze function.

• Press the 'ALARM' button to enter alarm setting mode.
• Use the '+' and '-' buttons to adjust the alarm time.
• Press 'SET/-' to confirm and move to the next setting (e.g., snooze duration).
• Snooze function can be set from 5 to 60 minutes or turned off.

5.3 Backlight Control

The display unit has a 5-level backlight brightness and an automatic night light brightness control function.

• Inaccurate Readings: Verify the outdoor sensor's placement is free from obstructions and direct heat sources. Ensure the rain collector is clear of debris.
