3. Setup

The Smart Battery Monitor JX-3-1 is designed for straightforward integration. Follow these steps for proper installation:

  1. Identify Connection Points: The back of the module features clearly labeled connection pads. The primary connections are for power input.
  2. Wiring: Connect the red wire to the positive (+) terminal of your battery or power source. Connect the black wire to the negative (-) terminal (GND). Ensure a secure connection to prevent intermittent readings or damage.
  3. Mounting: The compact size (30x30x3mm) allows for flexible mounting. Ensure the display is visible and the module is protected from physical damage or excessive moisture.
  4. Initial Power-On: Upon first power-on, the device will typically default to the ternary lithium battery setting (L03S or L03). You may need to adjust this setting according to your battery type (see Section 4: Operation).

4. Operation

The Smart Battery Monitor JX-3-1 features a single button for controlling display and accessing settings.

4.1. Basic Button Functions

  • Short Press: A brief press of the button will turn the display on or off.
  • Long Press (2 seconds): Press and hold the button for 2 seconds to enter the settings page.
  • Double Press: On the normal display page, press the button twice to switch between voltage and percentage display (DAO) modes.

4.2. Mode Settings

Once in the settings page (by long-pressing the button), you can navigate and adjust various parameters:

  • Battery Type Selection:
        To select the battery type, long press the button for 2 seconds to enter the settings page. Then, short press the button to cycle through the battery type settings:
        
    • L03 (Ternary Lithium Battery): Default setting. Suitable for 3S to 12S lithium-ion batteries.
    • F03 (Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery): Suitable for 3S to 14S lithium iron phosphate batteries.
    • P12/P24/P36/P48 (Lead-Acid Battery): Select the appropriate voltage for 12V, 24V, 36V, or 48V lead-acid batteries.
  • Display Mode (dAO / dR1):
        Long press the button for 2 seconds to enter settings. Short press to navigate to the display mode setting. You can choose between:
        
    • dAO: Displays both voltage and percentage.
    • dR1: Displays voltage and percentage with automatic recognition.
  • Custom High and Low Voltage Settings:
        This feature allows you to define the voltage values corresponding to 100% (full charge) and 0% (complete discharge) for your specific battery. Long press for 2 seconds to enter settings, then short press to navigate to these options.
  • Display Backlight Timing (bL0):
        Adjust the backlight display time. Long press for 2 seconds to enter settings, then short press to navigate to the bL0 setting page.
  • Factory Data Reset (rF0):
        This function restores the product to its original factory calibration. Use with caution as it is not recommended for general use. Long press for 2 seconds to enter settings, then short press to navigate to the rF0 setting page.

4.3. Low Voltage Alarm

The device includes a low voltage alarm function. When the battery power drops below a critical level, a red lightning symbol will flash on the display, indicating that the battery needs recharging or attention.

4.4. Power-off Memory

The Smart Battery Monitor JX-3-1 is equipped with a power-off memory preservation function. This ensures that even in the event of an unexpected power outage, the device automatically saves the current battery information and settings, restoring them upon power resumption.
