4. Installation Guide

This section provides general guidance for installing your car radio player. Professional installation is highly recommended.

4.1 Applicable Models & Years

This unit is designed for specific Volkswagen, Skoda, and Seat models. Please confirm the center console of your vehicle before bidding. This unit has a front panel size of 220mm (Top width) * 130mm (High) * 210mm (Bottom width).

4.4 Easy to Install 360-Degree Panoramic Driving Image (Optional)

Our 360 panoramic camera has an auto-calibration function. You can set the parameters directly on the machine without calibration paper and other tools. The dual left and right cameras are more portable than traditional camera installations, and there is no need to drill holes or remove door panels during installation. Please note that only the QS8PNC version supports 360 panoramic cameras.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Operation

Power On & Power Off

The radio will power on automatically when the car's ACC is powered. It will then access its main UI after displaying the start logo or Boost image. The radio will power off automatically when the car key is removed.

RST (Reset)

The system can be reset and restarted by pressing a small object into the RST hole located on the radio's front panel.

Touch Screen Usage

  • Click/Click and Hold: Use your finger to directly touch icons or buttons to operate.
  • Select/Remove: Short click a radio icon on the Main UI to tune to a radio station. Long click an icon or entry until the system performs the corresponding operations to remove or delete it.

Slip (Swipe)

Use your finger to swipe the touch screen left and right or up and down. For example, swipe the screen up and down to check the music display list.

Zoom

When viewing webpages, you can use two fingers to long click the screen. Spread two fingers to zoom in on the webpage; merge two fingers to zoom out.

Program Switching

  • Radio, music, video, and Bluetooth music cannot operate simultaneously.
  • Radio, music, video, and Bluetooth music can work with GPS navigation. The volume of radio, music, video, and Bluetooth music will automatically decrease during GPS voice prompts.

5.2 Functional Applications (Main UI)

  1. Back key, Home key, Task key: Standard navigation buttons.
  2. Status bar: Displays time, WLAN status, and location.
  3. More Application: Tap to enter the full application screen.
  4. Multimedia shortcut display window: Can display music, radio, Bluetooth music, etc.
  5. Safe driving assistance controls display window.
  6. Show date and week and local weather.
  7. Common APP area: You can press and hold an icon to replace it with another app. On the Main UI, click the corresponding icon to access its function. On non-main UIs, click the Home icon to return to the Main UI.

To access the app icon interface, click the app drawer icon. You can swipe left and right, long-click to remove or delete apps, or click to access their functions.

5.3 Dropdown Bar

Slide your finger over the top edge of the screen to reveal the drop-down menu:

  1. Swipe left and right to adjust screen brightness.
  2. Swipe left and right to adjust volume.
  3. Touch to enter Bluetooth Settings.
  4. Touch to turn on/off phone hotspot.
  5. Touch to clear background apps.
  6. Touch to enter Android Settings.
  7. Touch to enter Car Settings.
  8. Touch to turn off screen and mute, tap again to restore.
  9. Day and night theme mode switch.

5.4 Bluetooth

  1. Turn on the Bluetooth function on the device.
  2. The connected Bluetooth device list screen will be displayed.
  3. Touch the 'Search' icon to begin searching for your cellphone's Bluetooth. Ensure your cellphone's Bluetooth is turned on. Your cellphone's Bluetooth will appear on the screen.
  4. Touch your cellphone in the list to begin pairing. You may need to enter the password '0000' on your phone and allow the device to access your phone's contact list.
  5. After successful pairing, the system will establish a Bluetooth connection. The device name will be displayed in the pair list.
  6. The next time you turn on the player, Bluetooth will connect automatically.

  1. On the Bluetooth page, touch the settings icon to access Bluetooth settings.
  2. Rename the device as desired.
  3. Reset the device PIN code.
  4. Set Bluetooth to connect automatically or not.
  5. Set Bluetooth to answer phone calls automatically or not.

Touch the call history icon to enter the calling records page. You can touch the phone icon to switch between outgoing, incoming, and missed calls.

Touch the search icon to update the contact list from your cellphone. You can slide the letter on the right side to quickly search the list.

Touch the dial pad icon to enter the dialing page, where you can make a phone call directly.

  • Green button: Answer call
  • Red button: Hang up call
  • Speaker icon: Switch sound between phone and car
  • Microphone icon: Mute the microphone
  • Volume icons: Adjust calling volume

Tips: Once an Android Auto or Carplay compatible smartphone is connected via Bluetooth, the smartphone may automatically connect with Wireless Android Auto or Carplay when the ignition is turned on. If you do not want automatic connection, you can turn off 'Background Connection' in the Zlink APK.

5.5 Music Playback

  1. Music album picture display: Slide left and right to switch songs.
  2. Music playback control: Play, pause, skip songs, add to favorites, and set loop mode.
  3. Progress bar: Click or drag to adjust playback progress.
  4. Update local music: Click the search icon to update the local music list.
  5. Music background settings: Click the settings icon for music background options.

Music playlists are categorized as "Collection", "All", "SD card playlist", and "Udisk playlists". The system supports up to 3 U-disk playlists. The U-disk playlists option will be hidden if no U-disk is inserted.

5.6 Radio

In the Radio station, you can switch between FM/AM bands, search, and save your preferred radio stations. It also supports RDS. Specific operations include:

  • Left/Right Arrows: Low-frequency step tuning.
  • Search Icon: Auto search radio station and save station.
  • Previous/Next Track Icons: Search to the previous/next valid station.
  • Band Switch Icon: Switch bands.
  • DSP Icon: Access into DSP app.
  • Heart Icon: Add to favorites.
  • Star Icon: Favorites list.
  • Power Icon: Turn off radio.

RDS (Radio Data System)

Supports "TA" (Traffic Announcement) and "AF" (Alternative Frequencies) functions. AF can automatically search for other transmitting frequencies on current radio stations. TA can automatically search for the same type of radio stations. Press "PTY" (Program Type) to allow the user to search for their favorite program, such as specific types of music.

5.7 DSP Settings

The Digital Sound Processor (DSP) offers advanced audio customization.

EQ (Equalizer)

The EQ supports various multimedia modes: customize, standard, rock, soft, classical, pop, hall, jazz, and cinema. It also includes a Balance function. The DSP supports 32 segments of data that can be adjusted from 20Hz to 20kHz. You can directly slide the sound wave line with your finger to set the EQ sound effect, or select the corresponding frequency band for refined settings.

By default, the sound is centered and balanced. Selecting different speaker modes will focus the sound output in a specific area. Adjust the buttons around the seat picture or slide the small icon on the seat picture to modify the sound focus.

In this interface, you can set the sound gain for each speaker channel to ensure consistent volume. You can also set the phase inversion for proper speaker operation.

Sound Filtering (HPF/LPF)

Use the HPF (High-Pass Filter) and LPF (Low-Pass Filter) functions to filter the audio signal for each channel, resulting in cleaner sound.

This feature enhances the volume and expressiveness of the bass, improving the low-frequency effect for a fuller and more impactful sound.

You can turn the 3D surround sound effect on or off in this interface.

This product allows you to control the timing of sound emission from the car's six speakers, creating an immersive surround sound experience.

5.8 SW Learning (Steering Wheel Control)

  1. Touch 'SW Learning' to enter the steering wheel learning page. Touch 'Start' to begin.
  2. Press the desired car steering wheel buttons. Once the notice indicates to select learning buttons, click the button icon on the screen. If successful, the button icon will have a blue label.
  3. Repeat for other steering control buttons.
  4. After learning is complete, touch "End" and exit.

Note: If your car does not have a CANBUS protocol, you will need to perform steering wheel learning in the car settings. If your car has a CANBUS system, a CANBUS box is required to analyze the original car's steering wheel buttons.

5.9 Reverse Camera

Connect the reverse camera correctly as shown in the picture. If your car has a CANBUS system and the G5 is connected to the CANBUS decoder on your power cable, you do not need to connect the red wires (Reverse Control) on the reverse video cable.

To set reverse camera parameters, shift your car into reverse gear. The player will switch to reverse mode. Long press the image with one finger to bring up the setting menu.

You can adjust brightness, contrast, chromaticity, and saturation. To set the reverse camera image format, touch the camera icon. The OSSURET reverse cameras are typically AHD720P-25Hz or AHD1080P-25Hz.

5.10 Car Settings

Access 'Car Setting' APK to enter the setting menu.

  • WiFi: Turn WiFi on/off and connect to networks.
  • Mobile Network: Turn 4G-LTE network on/off.
  • Hotspot: Enable/disable hotspot, set name and password.
  • AP Band: Switch hotspot band between 2.4GHz and 5GHz.

  • Steering Wheel Setting: Set SW key learning.
  • Display: Adjust brightness, set wallpaper, default boot-up theme, font size, UI mode (day/dark), and tri-color lamp (button light color).
  • Sound: Set default volume and navigation volume.

  • Navi setting: Select default map application.
  • Auto run navi: Choose whether map runs automatically on boot.
  • Navigation mixing: Turn on/off navigation sound mixing.
  • Sound mixing: Set mixing ratio of navigation sound.
  • GNSS: Query satellite acquisition status.

5.11 General Settings

  • Hand Brake: Turn on/off handbrake detection (keep on for regulations).
  • Key Beep: Turn on/off touchscreen sound.
  • Light Detection: Turn on/off headlight switch detection (recommended to be on for automatic day/night mode).
  • Reverse Mirror: Turn on/off reverse camera image mirror function.
  • Hand Gestures Sidebar: Turn on/off quick virtual buttons.
  • Sidebar Auto Hidden: Turn on/off sidebar auto hidden function.
  • Pic in Pic: Turn on/off picture-in-picture function.
  • Video Out: Turn on/off video out function (requires adapter).
  • Car Amplifier: Control power supply of original amplifier.
  • Network share: Use cellphone to share network via Bluetooth or USB.
  • Source recovery mode: Select player state on boot.
  • Link Setting: Select phone link mode.

5.12 System Settings

  • Date And Time: Set date and time.
  • Accessibility: Set display size and text, color, motion, etc.
  • About: Show player parameters and detailed information.
  • Factory reset: Restore to factory settings (password is 1234, use with caution).
  • System upgrade: Upgrade player firmware.

Touch 'Factory setting', input password 16176699, touch 'Confirm' to enter advanced factory settings.

5.13 Carplay and Android Auto

You can use voice control for music playback, map navigation, call messaging, and more. The Carplay/Android Auto feature lets you sync photos and music from your phone. When you're focused on driving, you can use Carplay or Android Auto to make calls, send and receive messages, listen to music, and more.

Wireless Connection (WiFi):

  1. Turn on WiFi and Bluetooth on your phone.
  2. Find Bluetooth "CarBT-G5" and click on pairing.
  3. After successful Bluetooth pairing, allow connection to Carplay.

Wired Connection (USB/WiFi):

  1. Turn on WiFi and Bluetooth on your phone.
  2. Find Bluetooth "CarBT-G5" and click on pairing.
  3. After successful Bluetooth pairing, allow connection to Android Auto (or use the USB connection).

5.14 GPS Navigation

Our product supports Google Maps, Herewego, IGO, Sygic, and Yandex. If you want to use online maps, you need to connect the player to the internet via WiFi or 4G LTE. You can also download maps for your local area as an APK to use offline maps.

A high-speed GPS antenna is included, providing improved positioning speed and accuracy. Better materials ensure a more stable signal and faster satellite search.

5.15 TPMS Function (Optional)

Low tire pressure can lead to flat tires, poor tire grip, and accidents. Four-wheel air pressure imbalance can cause steering wheel shaking, poor driving experience, and increased fuel consumption. The TPMS function provides:

  • Real-time monitoring

An optional external/internal sensor provides quick alerts for abnormal tire pressure and low battery. Quick installation is supported.

5.16 ADAS DVR AHD 1080P (Optional)

Supports video loop recording. The camera automatically overwrites the oldest videos when the card is full, except for locked emergency videos.
