Maintenance
- Battery Replacement: Replace all four AA batteries when the low battery alarm sounds. Do not mix old and new batteries.
- Cleaning: Wipe the lock's exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
- Fingerprint Sensor: Keep the fingerprint sensor clean and dry for optimal performance.
- Keypad: Ensure the keypad is free from dirt and debris.
- Mechanical Parts: Periodically check for any loose screws or components. Do not lubricate the lock cylinder with oil-based lubricants; use graphite powder if necessary.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Lock does not respond. | Dead batteries or power issue. | Replace batteries or use USB emergency power. Check DC 12V connection if applicable. |
| Fingerprint not recognized. | Finger wet/dirty, sensor dirty, or fingerprint not properly enrolled. | Clean finger and sensor. Re-enroll fingerprint if necessary. Try another enrolled finger. |
| Passcode not working. | Incorrect passcode entered, or virtual passcode feature misunderstood. | Ensure correct passcode. Try entering random digits before and after the actual passcode if virtual passcode is enabled. |
| Cannot connect to Tuya App. | Bluetooth/Wi-Fi off, incorrect pairing mode, or network issues. | Ensure phone's Bluetooth/Wi-Fi is on. Put lock in pairing mode. Check Wi-Fi signal strength. Ensure optional gateway is connected for remote access. |
| Lock is loose after installation. | Screws not tightened properly. | Re-tighten all mounting screws. |
User Tips
- Always keep your mechanical keys in a safe, accessible location outside the property for emergency access.
- Regularly check the battery status through the Tuya app or by observing the lock's indicators.
- For optimal fingerprint recognition, ensure your finger is clean and dry when scanning. Try different angles if initial attempts fail.
- When using passcodes, consider enabling the virtual passcode feature to deter onlookers from guessing your code.
- If using the Tuya app for remote access, ensure your optional gateway (if required for your setup) is properly connected and has a stable internet connection.
- Periodically back up your access data (fingerprints, passcodes, cards) if the app allows, especially after major changes.
