4.2 Receiver (F-08A) Overview
The F-08A is an 8-channel receiver with voltage return functionality. It does not include a built-in gyro.
Figure 6: F-08A Receiver Details
4.3 Connecting the Receiver
The standard 8-channel receiver comes with a return function, which can return the battery voltage and the receiver signal. It is also equipped with a return signal cable with plugs. The alarm voltage for the return can be set via the remote control.
Figure 7: F-08A Receiver Wiring Diagram
- Connect the receiver to your model's power source (DC 4V-9V).
- Connect your servos to the appropriate channels (1-8) on the receiver. Digital servos will show a blue light when connected, analog servos will not.
- Connect the feedback line to the voltage return interface on the receiver and to the battery for telemetry data.
4.4 Binding the Transmitter and Receiver
To establish communication between the transmitter and receiver:
- Ensure both the transmitter and receiver are powered off.
- Press and hold the BIND button on the F-08A receiver while powering it on. The receiver's LED should start flashing rapidly.
- Turn on the DS-800 transmitter.
- Navigate to the 'Bind Set' menu on the transmitter's touchscreen.
- Select 'Start Bind'. The transmitter will attempt to connect to the receiver.
- Once successfully bound, the receiver's LED will turn solid, and the transmitter display will show connected status.
- Power cycle both devices to confirm the binding.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
- To power on, press and hold the power switch button on the transmitter.
- To power off, press and hold the power switch button until the display turns off.
5.2 Touchscreen Interface
The 2.0-inch color touchscreen provides intuitive access to all functions and real-time telemetry data.
Figure 8: Touchscreen Display Layout
The screen displays:
- RX V (Return Voltage): Receiver voltage.
- RSSI (Signal Strength): Received Signal Strength Indication.
- TX V (Remote Voltage): Transmitter voltage.
- ST (Steering Trim): Steering channel trim.
- TH (Throttle Trim): Throttle channel trim.
- VRA/VRB: Current values of variable potentiometers.
- Timer: Elapsed time.
- Menu Icons: Access settings, system, and other functions.
5.3 Basic Controls
- CH1/CH2 Knob: Controls primary functions like steering and throttle.
- VRA/VRB: Adjusts auxiliary channels.
- CHA/CHB/CHC Buttons: Activates additional functions.
- D/OK Buttons: Used for menu navigation and specific feature activation (e.g., Cruise Control).
5.4 Advanced Features
Figure 9: Advanced Operating Modes
-
Four-Wheel Steering (4WS)
The transmitter supports four-wheel steering with multiple modes (M-1, M-2, M-3, M-4) that can be switched as needed. Hybrid control channels can be switched between 3 and 8 channels.
-
Cruise Control
The transmitter supports cruise control. Once a constant speed is set, acceleration/deceleration can still be adjusted. Activate and adjust using the D/OK buttons.
-
Coach Mode
The remote control includes a coach function. Using a Type-C data cable, two remote controls can simultaneously control one device, allowing for training or shared control.
-
Virtual Joystick
The step parameters of the VRA/VRB channels can be modified, simulating potentiometer functionality for fine-tuned control.
-
Gyro Settings
The gyro parameter adjustment function requires the use of a built-in gyro-integrated receiver version (not the F-08A). If using a compatible receiver, these settings can be accessed via the touchscreen.
-
Programmable Mixing
The DS-800 offers rich and practical parameter adjustment functions, making it easy to operate and get started. The operation interface can be set in both Chinese and English.

6. Maintenance
6.1 Charging the Transmitter
The DS-800 transmitter has a built-in 1500mAh rechargeable lithium battery, providing 10-15 hours of use when fully charged. Use the provided Type-C charging cable to charge the transmitter.
Figure 11: Charging the Transmitter
- Connect the Type-C end of the charging cable to the charging port on the transmitter.
- Connect the USB-A end to a suitable USB power adapter (not included).
- The charging indicator on the screen will show charging status.
6.2 General Care
- Keep the transmitter and receiver clean and free from dust and moisture.
- Avoid exposing the devices to extreme temperatures or direct sunlight.
- Do not use harsh chemicals for cleaning; a soft, dry cloth is sufficient.
- Store the devices in a safe place when not in use to prevent physical damage.
7. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power to transmitter | Battery discharged | Charge the transmitter using the Type-C cable. |
| Receiver not responding | Not bound, out of range, or power issue | Re-bind the receiver (Section 4.4). Check receiver power supply. Ensure within 300m range. |
| Intermittent signal loss | Interference, low battery, or environmental factors | Check RSSI on transmitter. Ensure no strong 2.4Ghz interference sources nearby. Fully charge transmitter. |
| Servos not moving correctly | Incorrect channel assignment or calibration | Verify servo connections to receiver. Check channel settings and calibration in transmitter menu. |
| Touchscreen unresponsive | Software glitch or physical damage | Restart the transmitter. If issue persists, contact support. |
8. User Tips
- Range Testing: Always perform a range test in a safe, open area before operating your RC model to ensure reliable control.
- Battery Management: Monitor the transmitter's battery voltage (TX V) on the display and charge it before it gets too low to avoid unexpected power loss during operation.
- Firmware Updates: Check the manufacturer's website periodically for any available firmware updates for improved performance and new features.
- Environmental Awareness: Be aware that environmental factors like large metal objects, dense foliage, or other 2.4Ghz devices can affect signal range and stability.
