Figure 6: Tuya Smart app interface for monitoring water quality parameters. - Calibration (Recommended): Before first use, and periodically thereafter, calibrate the pH and EC/TDS/CF sensors using the provided buffer solutions.
- pH Calibration: Prepare pH 4.00 and pH 7.00 buffer solutions according to their instructions. Immerse the electrode in the pH 7.00 solution, press the "CAL" button under the pH display, and wait for the reading to stabilize. Repeat with pH 4.00 solution if necessary.
- EC/TDS/CF Calibration: Refer to the detailed instructions in the full user manual for specific EC/TDS/CF calibration procedures, as these often require specific standard solutions.
5. Operating Instructions
- Placement: Submerge the electrode into the water you wish to test. Ensure the sensor part is fully immersed but avoid submerging the entire monitor unit.
- Reading Measurements: The monitor features three large LCD screens displaying the various parameters.
- The left screen typically shows EC/PPM/CF values. Use the "MODE" button below this screen to cycle through these units.
- The middle screen displays pH or ORP values. Use the "MODE" button below this screen to switch between pH and ORP.
- The right screen shows Temperature and Humidity. Use the "C/F" button to switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit for temperature.
- Power On/Off: Use the "ON/OFF" button on the right side of the monitor to turn the device on or off.
- App Monitoring: Once connected to WiFi, open the Tuya Smart app on your smartphone to view real-time data, historical trends, and set alarms for specific parameter thresholds.
6. Maintenance
- Electrode Cleaning: Regularly clean the electrode with distilled water to remove any residue that might affect accuracy. For stubborn deposits, use a mild cleaning solution specifically designed for pH/EC electrodes.
- Electrode Storage: When not in use for extended periods, store the electrode in a suitable storage solution (e.g., KCL solution) or distilled water to prevent it from drying out. Do not store dry.
- Calibration: Recalibrate the sensors periodically, especially if you notice inconsistent readings or after prolonged storage.
- General Care: Keep the main monitor unit clean and dry. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures.
- Important Waterproof Warning: The main monitor unit is NOT waterproof. Please ensure the instrument does not get wet or damp during use or cleaning. Water ingress can cause malfunction and damage.

7. Troubleshooting
- Inaccurate Readings:
- Ensure the electrode is clean and free from debris.
- Perform a full calibration for the affected parameter (pH, EC, etc.).
- Check if the electrode is damaged or worn out; electrodes have a limited lifespan and may need replacement.
- Verify the temperature compensation is correct for the water being tested.
- No Display/Power Issues:
- Check the power adapter connection to both the monitor and the power outlet.
- Ensure the power outlet is functional.
- WiFi Connectivity Problems:
- Ensure your router is within range and functioning correctly.
- Restart the monitor and your router.
- Verify that the Tuya Smart app is updated to the latest version.
- Re-attempt the WiFi connection process through the app.
- App Not Displaying Data:
- Confirm the monitor is powered on and connected to WiFi.
- Check your smartphone's internet connection.
- Close and reopen the Tuya Smart app.
8. User Tips
- For hydroponic systems, regularly monitor EC/CF to ensure nutrient levels are optimal for plant growth.
- In aquariums and fish ponds, consistent pH and temperature monitoring is crucial for aquatic life health.
- When testing drinking water, refer to the provided TDS (PPM) quality chart to understand the purity level.
- Keep a log of your readings over time, either manually or using the app's historical data feature, to identify trends and potential issues early.
- Always handle the electrode carefully to avoid damage to the sensitive sensor tip.
