4.1 Input/Output Ports

5. Setup

5.1 Placement

  • Place the projector on a stable, flat surface.
  • Ensure the projector is positioned within the optimal projection distance of 0.5 to 5.5 meters from the screen to achieve a screen size of 40 to 200 inches.
  • For best results, project onto a white or light-colored, smooth surface.
  • Ensure there are no obstructions blocking the projector's vents.

5.2 Power Connection

  1. Connect the supplied power cord to the AC power input port on the projector.
  2. Plug the other end of the power cord into a power outlet (100-240V).
  3. The power indicator light will illuminate.

5.3 Connecting External Devices

  • HDMI: Use an HDMI cable to connect your device (e.g., laptop, game console) to one of the HDMI ports on the projector.
  • USB: Insert a USB flash drive or external hard drive into a USB port for direct media playback.
  • VGA: Connect a VGA cable from your computer's VGA output to the projector's VGA port.
  • Ethernet (D5000UP only): Connect an Ethernet cable to the LAN port for a wired internet connection.
  • Audio Out: Connect external speakers or headphones to the 3.5mm audio output jack for enhanced sound.

5.4 Focus and Keystone Adjustment

  • Focus: Rotate the focus ring on the projector lens until the image appears sharp and clear.
  • Keystone Correction: The projector features automatic vertical keystone correction (±15°). For more precise adjustments or if the image is still distorted, use the manual keystone correction settings in the projector's menu. The D5000 series also supports four-corner keystone correction for flexible placement.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Power On/Off

  • Power On: Press the power button on the projector or the remote control. The projector will start up.
  • Power Off: Press the power button again. A confirmation message may appear; select 'Power Off' to shut down the projector safely.

6.2 Source Selection

Use the 'Source' button on the remote control or the projector's control panel to cycle through available input sources (HDMI1, HDMI2, VGA, USB, Media Player, etc.).

6.3 Menu Navigation

Use the arrow keys and 'OK' button on the remote control to navigate through the on-screen display (OSD) menu. Here you can adjust picture settings, sound settings, network settings, and more.

6.4 Bluetooth Connectivity

To connect Bluetooth devices (e.g., speakers, headphones):

  1. Go to the projector's settings menu and select 'Bluetooth'.
  2. Enable Bluetooth and search for available devices.
  3. Select your desired device from the list to pair.

6.5 Screen Mirroring (Airplay/MiraCast)

The D5000 series supports screen mirroring from compatible devices via Airplay (for iOS) and MiraCast (for Android).

  1. Ensure your projector and mobile device are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. Select the 'Screen Mirror' option from the projector's main menu.
  3. On your mobile device, activate screen mirroring/casting and select the projector from the list of available devices.

6.6 Media Playback

Insert a USB storage device into the projector's USB port. Navigate to the 'Media Player' application from the main menu. You can browse and play various media formats:

  • Video: Supports 4K@30Hz, H.264/AVC, MKV, MP4, AVI, etc.
  • Audio: Supports MP3, AAC, WMA.
  • Image: Supports JPEG, BMP.

7. Maintenance

7.1 Cleaning

  • Lens: Use a soft, lint-free cloth specifically designed for optical lenses. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
  • Casing: Wipe the projector's casing with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly.
  • Vents: Regularly check and clean the air vents to prevent dust buildup, which can affect cooling performance. Use a soft brush or compressed air.

7.2 Storage

When not in use for extended periods, store the projector in a cool, dry, and dust-free environment. Use the original packaging or a protective case to prevent damage.

8. Troubleshooting

  • No Power: Ensure the power cord is securely connected to both the projector and the power outlet. Try a different outlet.
  • No Image: Check the input source selection. Ensure the connected device is powered on and sending a signal. Check HDMI/VGA cable connections.
  • Blurry Image: Adjust the focus ring on the lens. Ensure the projection distance is within the recommended range.
  • Distorted Image (Trapezoid): Use the keystone correction feature to adjust the image shape.
  • No Sound: Check the volume settings on both the projector and the connected source device. Ensure external speakers/headphones are properly connected if used.
  • Remote Control Not Working: Check the batteries in the remote. Ensure there are no obstructions between the remote and the projector's IR receiver.
