1. Introduction

The GLEDOPTO ACKmatter Intelligent RGBCCT Light Strip Controller is designed to provide advanced and versatile control over your LED strip lighting. Utilizing the Matter protocol, this controller offers seamless integration with various smart home ecosystems, including Apple HomeKit, Amazon Alexa, and Google Assistant. It supports RGB, tunable white (CCT), and dimming functionalities, making it suitable for a wide range of indoor lighting applications. This manual provides detailed instructions for setup, operation, and maintenance to ensure optimal performance and a smooth user experience.

5. Setup and Installation

5.1 Wiring the Controller

The controller features quick-connect terminals for easy, solder-free wiring. Ensure the power supply is disconnected before wiring.

  1. Power Input: The controller supports two power input methods:
    • V+, V- power interface (screw terminals)
    • 5.5x2.1mm DC Socket
    Connect your DC 12-24V power supply to either of these inputs.
  2. LED Strip Connection: Connect your RGBCCT LED strip to the corresponding output terminals: V+, R, G, B, C, W.
  3. Quick Connect Port Design:
    • Open the connector upwards.
    • Insert the stripped wire (10mm stripping length, 0.34-4mm² / 22-12AWG) into the terminal.
    • Press down the connector to secure the wire.

5.2 Network Connection (Matter Pairing)

To use the smart features, the controller must be added to your Matter-enabled smart home system. Ensure your Matter hub (e.g., HomePod, Echo Dot, Google Nest Mini) is set up and online within its respective app.

5.2.1 Apple Home App Connection

  1. Open the Apple Home app. Click the "+" icon on the top right corner of the screen.
  2. Select "Add Accessory" or "Scan Accessories".
  3. Align the scanning frame with the QR code located on the controller.
  4. A prompt to add the accessory will appear. Tap "Add to Apple Home".
  5. After a successful search, select the room where the controller is placed, then click "Continue".
  6. Modify the controller name (optional), then click "Continue".
  7. The system will show that the bridge device has been added to the room. Click "Done" to start using the controller.

5.2.2 Amazon Alexa App Connection

  1. Open the Amazon Alexa app. Click the "+" icon in the top right corner.
  2. Click "Add Device".
  3. Select "Light" from the device categories.
  4. Find and select "GLEDOPTO" from the brand list.
  5. Click "Scan QR code".
  6. Scan the QR code located on the controller to complete the connection.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Button Functions

The controller features two physical buttons for basic control:

  • On/Off/Dimmer Button:
    • Short press: Power on/off the LED strip.
    • Long press: Adjust brightness (dimming).
  • Reset Button:
    • Short press: Cycle through preset colors (Red -> Yellow -> Green -> Mixed White -> Blue -> Purple -> Warm White -> Cold Warm Mixed White -> Cold White).
    • Long press for 5 seconds: Reset the controller, entering network pairing mode.

6.2 Smart App Control

Once connected to your Matter-enabled smart home system, you can control the LED strip via the respective app (e.g., Apple Home, Amazon Alexa, Google Home) or other Matter-compatible applications.

  • Color Control: Access 16 million RGB colors to set the perfect ambiance.
  • Color Temperature Adjustment: Fine-tune white light from warm (2200K) to cool (6500K).
  • Brightness Adjustment: Smoothly dim or brighten your lights from 0% to 100%.
  • Scene Management: Create and activate custom lighting scenes for different moods or activities.

6.3 Voice Control

With a Matter-enabled hub, you can use voice commands through Siri, Alexa, or Google Assistant to control your lights. Ensure the controller and your voice assistant device are on the same network.

  • Example Commands:
    • "Hey Siri, Turn on the living room light."
    • "Hey Siri, Brightness increased to 70%."
    • "Alexa, set kitchen lights to blue."
    • "Ok Google, dim bedroom lights by 50%."

7. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your GLEDOPTO controller, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

  • Cleaning: Gently wipe the controller with a dry, soft cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as they may damage the device.
  • Environment: Install the controller in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight, high temperatures, and excessive humidity. Ensure proper ventilation to prevent overheating.
  • Connections: Periodically check all wiring connections to ensure they are secure and free from corrosion.
  • Firmware Updates: Keep your Matter hub and associated apps updated to the latest firmware versions to ensure compatibility and access to new features.

8. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your GLEDOPTO controller, refer to the following troubleshooting steps:

Problem Possible Cause Solution
LED strip does not light up. No power, incorrect wiring, faulty LED strip. Check power supply connection. Verify wiring to V+ and V- terminals. Ensure LED strip is functional.
Controller not responding to app/voice commands. Not connected to network, Matter hub offline, network issues. Ensure controller is paired with your Matter hub. Check if your Matter hub is online and connected to the internet. Restart your router/modem.
Incorrect colors or CCT. Incorrect LED strip type selected in app, wiring issue. Verify the LED strip type (RGBCCT) is correctly configured in your smart home app. Check the R, G, B, C, W wiring to the controller.
Controller frequently disconnects. Weak Wi-Fi signal, network interference. Move the controller closer to your Wi-Fi router or Matter hub. Reduce interference from other wireless devices.
Cannot pair the controller. Controller not in pairing mode, Matter hub issue. Long press the Reset button for 5 seconds to enter pairing mode. Ensure your Matter hub is properly configured and ready to add new devices.

9. User Tips

  • Matter Hub Placement: For optimal performance and reliable connectivity, place your Matter-enabled hub (e.g., HomePod, Echo Dot) within a reasonable range of the GLEDOPTO controller.
  • Wire Gauge: When wiring, ensure you use the suggested wire type (0.34-4mm² / 22-12AWG) and strip the insulation precisely to 10mm for a secure connection.
  • Power Supply Matching: Always use a DC 12-24V power supply that matches the voltage requirements of your LED strip and has sufficient wattage to power the entire length of your strip, considering the controller's 20A max output.
  • App Exploration: Take time to explore the features within your chosen smart home app. Many apps offer advanced scheduling, automation, and scene creation capabilities that can enhance your lighting experience.
