1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the installation, operation, and maintenance of your Jansite 8.1-inch Motorcycle GPS Navigation and Multimedia Display. This device offers wireless Carplay and Android Auto functionality, IPX7 waterproofing, and depending on the model, a drive recorder with 4K+1080P dual cameras and Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS).

4. Setup and Installation

4.1 Mounting the Display Unit

The display unit offers versatile mounting options to suit various motorcycle configurations.

  • Handlebar Mounting: Attach the bracket securely to your motorcycle's handlebars using the provided clamps.
  • Rearview Mirror Mounting: Utilize the rearview mirror mounting point for a different placement.

Ensure the bracket is tightened firmly to prevent movement during riding. The rotatable bracket allows for optimal viewing angles.

4.2 Power Connection

Connect the display unit to your motorcycle's 12V power supply using the original power cable provided. A stable 12V power source is required for the device to start and operate correctly.

4.3 Camera Installation (MT58 models only)

For models equipped with a driving recorder (MT58A, MT58B, MT58C), install the 4K front camera and 1080P rear camera in suitable positions on your motorcycle. Ensure the cameras have a clear, unobstructed view. The cameras offer a 110° viewing angle.

4.4 TPMS Sensor Installation (MT58C model only)

If your model includes TPMS (MT58C), install the tire pressure sensors on your motorcycle's tire valves according to the instructions provided with the sensors. These sensors will monitor tire pressure and temperature in real-time.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Initial Power On and Interface

Once properly connected to power, the display unit will power on. The 8.1-inch IPS screen provides a clear interface for accessing various functions.

5.2 Wireless Carplay & Android Auto

Connect your smartphone wirelessly to the display unit to access Carplay (for iPhone) or Android Auto (for Android phones). This allows you to use your phone's navigation, music, communication, and voice control features directly on the motorcycle display.

  • Navigation: Use your preferred navigation apps (e.g., Google Maps, Apple Maps) displayed on the screen.
  • Music: Stream music from your phone's apps.
  • Phone Calls: Make and receive calls safely.
  • Voice Control: Utilize Google Voice or Siri for hands-free operation.
  • Split Screen: Some models/apps may support split-screen functionality.

5.3 Dual Bluetooth Connectivity

The device features Dual Bluetooth 5.0. This allows you to connect your smartphone to the display unit (for data and audio) and simultaneously connect the display unit to a Bluetooth headset in your helmet for audio output (music, calls, navigation prompts).

5.4 Driving Recorder Functions (MT58 models only)

For models with cameras, the device acts as a driving recorder. It supports:

  • Loop Recording: Automatically overwrites the oldest files when the memory card is full.
  • G-Sensing Lock: Built-in gravity sensor automatically locks video footage in case of sudden impact or collision, preventing it from being overwritten.
  • High Definition: Records front footage in 4K and rear footage in 1080P.

5.5 Tire Pressure Monitoring (MT58C model only)

The MT58C model includes TPMS. The display will show real-time tire pressure and temperature readings from the installed sensors, providing crucial safety information during your ride.

5.6 Remote Control (MT58B, MT58C models only)

For models with a GPS remote control, this square keypad offers convenient operation without needing to touch the screen, especially useful when wearing gloves. Functions include phototaking, lock key, menu swap, recording indicator light, answer phone calls, and GPS location access.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the display unit. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Water Resistance: The display unit is IPX7 waterproof, and cameras are IP67 waterproof. This means they are protected against temporary immersion in water. However, avoid prolonged submersion or high-pressure water jets.
  • Temperature: The device is designed to operate in temperatures ranging from -4°F to 158°F (-20°C to 70°C). Avoid exposing it to extreme temperatures outside this range for extended periods.
  • Anti-Glare Screen: The anti-glare screen is designed for visibility in various lighting conditions. Clean gently to maintain its properties.

7. Troubleshooting

Q: The device does not power on.
A: Ensure you are using the original power cable provided and that it is connected to a stable 12V power source on your motorcycle. Check all connections for looseness.
Q: GPS navigation is not working.
A: The monitor does not have a built-in GPS navigation application. GPS functionality is accessed through Wireless Carplay or Android Auto using your smartphone's navigation apps. Ensure your phone is properly connected and GPS is enabled on your phone.
Q: The remote control is not responding.
A: Check the remote control's battery. Ensure it is paired correctly with the main unit. If the issue persists, contact customer support.
Q: Cameras are not recording (MT58 models).
A: Verify that an SD card (up to 128GB) is inserted and properly formatted. Check camera connections. Ensure loop recording and G-sensing functions are configured as desired in the settings.

  • Always use the original power cable to ensure compatibility and proper voltage supply.
  • For optimal navigation, connect your smartphone via Wireless Carplay or Android Auto and use your preferred mapping application.
