3. Setup and Assembly
3.1. Charging the Battery
New or long-unused rechargeable batteries must be charged before initial use. When the battery level is low, recharge or replace the battery.
Charging Procedure:
- Insert the adapter (standard output: 5V DC, 1A) into a power outlet.
- Place the battery or radio with the battery installed onto the charging dock.
- Ensure the battery makes proper contact with the charging terminals. The charger indicator will turn red, indicating charging has started. For Type-C charging, insert the Type-C plug into the Type-C charging port on the right side of the device. A green icon will indicate full charge.
- Charging takes approximately 4-5 hours. When the charger indicator turns green, charging is complete. The battery or radio can now be removed for use.

Charging Precautions:
- Do not short-circuit battery terminals or discard batteries in fire. Do not disassemble the battery casing.
- The ambient temperature during charging should be between 0°C and 40°C. Charging outside this range may affect proper battery charging.
- Turn off the radio power during charging. Using the radio while charging may interfere with proper charging.
- Avoid unplugging the power source or battery during charging to avoid disrupting the charging process.
- If usage time is significantly reduced even after a full charge, the battery has reached the end of its life and should be replaced.
- Do not unplug and reconnect a fully charged battery for recharging, as this may shorten battery life or cause damage.
- Do not charge wet batteries or radios. Dry them with a cloth before charging to avoid hazards.
- Warning: All batteries may cause damage or personal injury if conductive metals such as jewelry, keys, or chains come into contact with the electrodes. Handle all batteries with care.
- Warning: Keep new or old used batteries out of reach of children.
- Warning: The plug of the adapter is considered a disconnect device. The socket-outlet shall be installed near the equipment and shall be easily accessible.

3.2. Installing/Removing the Battery
Align the battery's bottom positioning posts with the battery slot on the rear casing. Press gently on the top of the battery to lock it into place. To remove the battery, push the lock upward and pull the battery out.
3.3. Installing/Removing the Belt Clip
If necessary, attach the included belt clip to the screw holes on the back of the battery pack for easy carrying. To remove the belt clip, unscrew the two screws.
3.4. Attaching the Radio Strap
Thread the radio strap through the loop on the middle of the radio.
3.5. Connecting an Optional Speaker/Microphone Headset
Lift the headset cover and insert the speaker/microphone headset directly into the corresponding jack.
