Installation

Professional installation is recommended for optimal performance and security. Ensure your door meets the thickness requirement of 35-110mm.

Pre-Installation Checklist:

  • Verify door thickness is between 35mm and 110mm.
  • Ensure the door frame is clear and free of obstructions.
  • Confirm all package contents are present.
  • Gather necessary tools (screwdriver, drill, measuring tape, pencil).

General Installation Steps:

  1. Remove Existing Lock: Carefully remove your current door lock and hardware.
  2. Install Mortise Lock: Insert the new mortise lock body into the door edge and secure it with screws.
  3. Install Front Panel: Route the cables from the front panel through the door and align the spindle. Secure the front panel.
  4. Install Rear Panel: Connect the cables from the front panel to the rear panel. Align the rear panel with the spindle and secure it to the door.
  5. Insert Battery: Place the 4200mAh lithium battery into the designated compartment in the rear panel.
  6. Test Mechanical Keys: Ensure the mechanical keys can operate the lock smoothly.

Setup & Configuration

1. App Download and Account Creation:

  • Download the 'Smart' or 'Smart Life' app from your smartphone's app store (iOS/Android).
  • Register for a new account or log in if you already have one.

2. Connecting to Wi-Fi:

  • Ensure your smartphone is connected to a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network.
  • Open the app, tap 'Add Device' or the '+' icon.
  • Select 'Security & Video Surveillance' > 'Smart Lock' (or similar category).
  • Follow the in-app instructions to put the lock into pairing mode (usually by pressing a button on the rear panel or entering a specific code).
  • Enter your Wi-Fi network password in the app to complete the connection.

3. User Enrollment:

Once connected, you can add various unlocking methods via the app or directly on the lock's keypad.

a. Face Recognition:

  • Access the 'User Management' section in the app or on the lock's menu.
  • Select 'Add Face'.
  • Follow the on-screen prompts to position your face correctly for scanning. The lock will guide you through the process.
  • Ensure good lighting and a consistent distance for accurate enrollment.

b. Fingerprint:

  • In 'User Management', select 'Add Fingerprint'.
  • Place your finger on the sensor multiple times as instructed until enrollment is complete.

c. Password:

  • In 'User Management', select 'Add Password'.
  • Enter a new password on the keypad and confirm it.
  • Consider using a scrambled password feature (if available) for added security.

d. IC Card:

  • In 'User Management', select 'Add Card'.
  • Present the IC card to the designated card reader area on the lock until it is registered.

Operating Instructions

1. Unlocking the Door:

  • Face Recognition: Approach the lock, and it will automatically wake up and scan your face. If recognized, the lock will unlock.
  • Fingerprint: Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor. The lock will unlock upon successful verification.
  • Password: Enter your registered password on the keypad, followed by the '#' key.
  • IC Card: Present your registered IC card to the card reader area.
  • Mobile App (Remote): Open the 'Smart' or 'Smart Life' app, select your lock, and tap the unlock button. You can also grant temporary access or respond to intercom requests remotely.   • Mechanical Key: In case of emergency or battery depletion, use the mechanical key to unlock the door.

2. Locking the Door:

  • Automatic Locking: The lock will automatically engage within 3 seconds after the door is closed.
  • Manual Locking: You can also manually lock the door from the inside by lifting the handle or pressing the lock button (if available).

3. Using the Intercom Function:

  • When a visitor presses the doorbell button on the outdoor unit, you will receive a notification on your smartphone app.
  • You can view the visitor through the app's live feed and communicate with them using the two-way audio feature.
  • Grant access remotely by tapping the unlock button in the app.

Maintenance

  • Battery Charging: The lock will provide low-power alerts. Recharge the 4200mAh lithium battery using the provided USB-C cable. For emergencies, a USB-C port is available for temporary power.
  • Cleaning: Wipe the lock's surface, keypad, and sensors with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.
  • Firmware Updates: Periodically check the 'Smart' or 'Smart Life' app for available firmware updates to ensure optimal performance and security.
  • Mechanical Key Access: Keep mechanical keys in a safe, accessible location outside the home for emergency use.

Troubleshooting

  • Lock not responding: Check battery level. If low, recharge immediately or use mechanical key.

  • Wi-Fi disconnection: Verify your home Wi-Fi network is active and the lock is within range. Restart your router and the lock if necessary.
  • App not connecting to lock: Ensure the app is updated to the latest version. Check your phone's internet connection.
  • Door not locking automatically: Check for any obstructions preventing the door from closing fully. Verify the auto-lock setting in the app.

  • Regular Battery Checks: Pay attention to low battery warnings and recharge promptly to avoid being locked out.
  • Multiple Unlocking Methods: Register multiple fingerprints or faces for different family members, and always keep a mechanical key as a backup.
  • Temporary Access: Utilize the app's temporary password generation feature for visitors or service providers instead of sharing permanent codes.
  • Security Monitoring: Regularly check the app for access logs and use the real-time monitoring feature to view your doorstep.
  • Clean Sensors: Keep the face recognition camera and fingerprint sensor clean for optimal performance.
