4. Operating Instructions

4.1. Basic Keyboard Functions

The WH80 HE is an 82-key layout keyboard. All standard alphanumeric and function keys operate as expected. Refer to the keycap legends for specific functions.

4.2. Rapid Trigger (RT) Function

The Rapid Trigger function allows you to freely set key reset and re-trigger points with a precision of 0.005mm. This means you do not need a full key lift to stop triggering, enabling faster, more responsive input, especially critical in gaming scenarios. The RT adjustment range is 0.005-2.20mm.

4.3. Advanced Gaming Functions

The keyboard supports several advanced functions for competitive gaming:

  • Rapid Shift Function: Determine which key to trigger by comparing the travel distance of two set keys.
  • DKS (Dynamic Keystroke): Allows for dynamic adjustment of keystroke behavior.
  • ST (Snap Tap): Provides quick, responsive key actuation.
  • SOCD (Simultaneous Opposite Cardinal Directions): When both bound buttons are pressed, you can prioritize one or cancel both inputs.
  • TGL (Toggle Key): Toggles specific functions on or off.
  • MT (Mod-Tap): Allows a key to act as a modifier when held and a regular key when tapped.
  • HyperTap Function: Add another trigger point at the reset point of RT key travel.

4.5. RGB Lighting

The keyboard features dynamic RGB lighting. Lighting effects and brightness can be adjusted directly on the keyboard or through the NuPhyIO 2.0 software.

5. Maintenance

5.1. Cleaning the Keyboard

To clean your keyboard, power it off and disconnect it from your computer. Use a soft, lint-free cloth slightly dampened with water or a mild cleaning solution. Avoid spraying liquids directly onto the keyboard. For cleaning between keycaps, use compressed air or a small brush. The keycaps can be removed for deeper cleaning using the provided switch puller.

5.2. Switch Replacement

The NuPhy WH80 HE features hot-swappable switches. To replace a switch, gently pull off the keycap using the keycap puller. Then, use the switch puller to carefully remove the switch from the PCB. Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB and press firmly until it clicks into place. Ensure the switch is properly seated to avoid bent pins.

5.3. Battery Care

To prolong battery life, avoid fully discharging the keyboard frequently. If storing the keyboard for an extended period, charge it to approximately 50% and store it in a cool, dry place. Recharge periodically if not in use.

6. Troubleshooting

6.1. Connection Issues

  • 2.4G/Bluetooth Disconnection: Ensure the keyboard is charged. Check the toggle switch is in the correct position. For 2.4G, try replugging the receiver. For Bluetooth, re-pair the device.
  • Wired Connection Not Detected: Ensure the USB cable is securely connected to both the keyboard and the computer. Try a different USB port or cable.

6.2. Key Responsiveness and Delay

The WH80 HE is designed for ultra-low latency. If you experience unexpected delays or unresponsiveness:

  • Check RT Settings: Verify your Rapid Trigger settings in NuPhyIO 2.0. Incorrect settings might lead to unintended behavior.
  • Firmware Update: Ensure your keyboard firmware is up to date via NuPhyIO 2.0.
  • Interference: For wireless modes, minimize interference from other wireless devices.
