3. Important Safety Information

  • Battery Compatibility: This device is designed for 21700 ternary lithium iron batteries only. Do NOT attempt to charge lithium iron phosphate batteries or any other battery types.
  • Power Supply: Use two DC 5V 3A or higher Type-C adapters for power. Insufficient power supply may lead to improper operation or damage.
  • Battery Condition: Do NOT test damaged, leaking, or visibly compromised batteries. This can lead to fire, explosion, or other catastrophic consequences.

5. Setup Guide

  1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the BT4-21700 battery analyzer from its packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage.
  2. Power Supply Connection: The device requires two DC 5V 3A or higher power adapters. Connect these adapters to the Type-C ports on the device. Ensure the power sources are stable and meet the specified requirements.
  3. Placement: Place the analyzer on a stable, flat surface in a well-ventilated area, away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and flammable materials.
  4. Battery Insertion: Insert up to four 21700 ternary lithium iron batteries into the designated channels (CHN1, CHN2, CHN3, CHN4). Pay close attention to the polarity markings (+ and -) on the battery holders to ensure correct insertion. The PETG-based battery holders are designed for easy installation.

6. Operating Instructions

The BT4-21700 offers multiple operating modes for comprehensive battery analysis. The 1.77-inch color screen displays real-time parameters for each channel.

6.1 Interface and Controls

The device features a display screen and several buttons for navigation and mode selection. The display shows real-time voltage, current, cumulative capacity, cumulative energy, reference internal resistance, run time, and cycle count for each channel.

6.2 Operating Modes

The BT4-21700 supports various operating modes, including AUTO, CHG (Charge), and DSG (Discharge). You can switch between these modes using the control buttons.

6.3 Starting a Test

  1. Ensure batteries are correctly inserted and power is supplied.
  2. Use the navigation buttons to select the desired channel (CHN1-CHN4).
  3. Select the operating mode (Charge, Discharge, Auto, etc.) for the chosen channel.
  4. Adjust the stop (discharge) voltage if performing a discharge test (adjustable from 2.5V to 3.5V in 11 levels).
  5. Initiate the test. The screen will display real-time data for the active channels.

6.4 Internal Resistance Measurement

The device uses a DC two-wire method for internal resistance measurement. Please note that these results are for reference only and may not be as precise as professional four-wire measurement methods.

7. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the device. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents. Ensure no liquids enter the device.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the analyzer in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Fan Maintenance: Periodically check the cooling fan for dust accumulation. If necessary, gently clean the fan blades with compressed air to maintain optimal heat dissipation.
  • Battery Holders: Inspect the battery holders for any debris or corrosion. Clean gently if needed to ensure good contact with batteries.

8. Troubleshooting

  • While the internal resistance measurement is for reference, it can still be a useful indicator for comparing the health of similar batteries.
  • Familiarize yourself with the different operating modes (AUTO, CHG, DSG) to best suit your testing needs.
