4. Maintenance

Proper maintenance will extend the life and performance of your MG117 RC car.

  • Cleaning: After each use, especially outdoors, clean the car to remove dirt, dust, and debris. Use a soft brush or compressed air for hard-to-reach areas. Avoid using water directly on electronic components.
  • Battery Care: Always fully charge the 1S280mAh battery before use. Do not overcharge or completely discharge the battery. Store the battery in a cool, dry place when not in use.
  • Moving Parts: Regularly check wheels, gears, and suspension components for wear or damage. Ensure all screws are tight. The magnetic quick-release body allows for easy access to internal components for inspection.
  • Motor: The high-power 816 coreless motor requires minimal maintenance, but ensure it remains free of obstructions.
  • Adjustments: Periodically check and adjust the wheelbase and motor position as needed for optimal performance or when changing body shells.

5. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your MG117 RC car, try the following basic troubleshooting steps:

  • Car not responding:
    1. Ensure both the car and remote controller are powered on.
    2. Check battery levels in both the car and remote controller. Recharge or replace as necessary.
    3. Verify that the car and remote are properly paired. Refer to the remote controller's manual for pairing instructions.
    4. Ensure you are within the 20m control range.
  • Car not moving or erratic movement:
    1. Check for any obstructions in the wheels or gears.
    2. Inspect the motor and drivetrain for visible damage.
    3. If equipped with a gyroscope, ensure it is functioning correctly (if applicable, check its calibration).
  • Poor drift performance:
    1. Ensure the driving surface is suitable for drifting (smooth, low-grip).
    2. Check tire condition; worn tires may affect drift.
    3. If applicable, verify the functional differential is operating smoothly.
  • FPV camera issues (FPV editions):
    1. Ensure the camera is properly connected and powered.
    2. Check the FPV receiver and display device for proper setup and signal.
